Melody, my suggestion is to just do the best that you can. At only 8 weeks post-op you honestly are still trying to figure out how to eat. For myself, at your stage I concentrated only on my protein. If I could get 60-80 grams I was thrilled. I really didn't worry about the rest. I followed the rules of protein first, then vegetables, fruit and starch, if there was room which usually there wasn't. I was told to be eating 1000-1200 calories a day. I actually just laughed at them. That really isn't realistic so early out. Basicly, the nutritionist explained to me that all of those numbers she gave me were goals to be reaching by 6 months post-op. Before that 1000 calories was going to be pretty difficult to do.
This is a huge learning process and some days will be better than others. If you don't make the "numbers" on certain days, don't worry...you haven't ruined everything. There is always tomorrow to try again. I would just pick one "number" to strive to obtain, which should be the protein....the rest will come with time.
