Hold onto your hats!
You guys are probably going to freak about this... but, you know it works for me!
8-10am Breakfast: 411 Calories
.75 cup Yogurt, plain, lowfat milk
.25 cup Ginger Granola, NFS
2 cups of coffee with cream and 1 tsp sugar each
Noon Lunch: 176 Calories
1 cup Mixed salad greens
.5 can of tuna, water packed
1 tblsp salad dressing
7pm and 9pm Dinner: 440 Calories
1 Subway Chicken Bacon Ranch Wrap (half at 7, half at 9)
Totals: 1027 calories 36 g fat 89 g carbs 80 g protein
It's nice to check out what everyone else is doing, but ultimately you have to do what makes you feel good. Attempting to eat someone else's diet is not necessarily a good thing. If you're stuck at a plateau or the numbers aren't dropping the way you want them to, you may consider increasing your calories but only with things that are high in protein.

I feel the same way Rain~ I eat like a completely different person. It's like this little picky bird took me over and now I just nibble at things, and chew chew chew, and then I have to be exactdly ready to swalllow. So everything including a cookie there rules are a tiny tiny nibble at a time. It took me several minutes to finish the cookie. I havent had many dumps, I have managed to have a Christmas chocolate without any serious complications. So I have experimented a time or two on sweets. The worse dumping I had was with cheesecake (on the cruise) that really got me. The slower you nibble it, and the longer it takes to finish it really makes a difference. The cookie didnt bother me at all. But I had some tea, and didnt have anything esle afterwards. Everything I eat is so slow, and such small porportions, it is so different from the way I used to eat. It's great!

You are right, Christina...seems like everyone eats differantly than everyone here. I consume probably as much calories as Barbara does in a day, most days. I was doing a food log for about 2 weeks and saw that was a "norm" for me. It is not maintanence calories for me though. I would have to consume about 1800 calories a day to maintain the weight I am right now. I do not eat that many calories a day, yet! <LOL>
I am also very concerned about gaining my weight back in the future and that is why I do the best I can to have a healthy and balanced diet now. It is hard at times...very hard but I think I am doing pretty good considering my issues before. I will continue to do the best I can and try to avoid the snacking...one day at a time.

Karen,
Sometimes you just have to snack! I just try and stick to high protein and low fat snacks when I do so. It depends on the day and what is going on. I realize that on the days I am off I tend to snack more than usual. The days that I work I am able to control more of what I eat. I know I'm bad. However, I am a lot like Karla in my thinking. I eat if I am hungry and don't if I'm not. I just try and do what my body tells me to do. That fear though, it is a killer for me. My Sister and I talked about that last night. I'll just log what I'm eating for a few days and ask Dr. C what he says. I think that everyone is different, different strokes for different folks. We're all different, and maybe I don't require as much food as others? We'll see.

folks, maybe I'm on my way back to bad health, but, I don't keep tabs on what I eat, but, its about the same every day, 2 hard boiled eggs at about 3am(work early), 7:45am its a bananna or a tuna salad sandwish. At lunch (10am) I have chicken, beef or fish w/veggies or beans ( I get a lot of those). Dinner (3-5pm) I have more chicken, beef or fish and beans or veggies and about 6pm I have fruit, mostly cantelope, bananna papaya w/ 1/2 cup of cottage chesse, a handfull of almond granola from henry's and a good squirt of honey (ADICTING). I stay away from candy, sweet breads, rice, sodas, I keep pastas to a minimnum. If I feel like a snack. I have beef jerky or some trail mix (without the m&m's or chocolate chips) I drink at least a half gsallon of water a day, but, If I feel like I want an Oreo,I have a few, not a few rows. I dont concern myself with the little stuff. I dont want to ever again use the word "DIET".
I do chew until I anoy those around me. Are you gonna swallow that sometime today??? I can actualy eat 2-2 1/2 cups at a time maybe even a bit more, again, it depends on my chewing. I'm 17 month post and can preatty much eat anything, cosco hotdog, pizza, chicken bakes,,, no problems and when it comes to beer,,,, watch out, I can put it away!!!!!!
hopefully this wont get me in trouble, but I'm having a greaty time. My weight has been stable for about 6 month (droped only 11 lbs in that time). My energy level is above average (I don't miss my vitamins) and I have developed this thing for hiking and fishing. Hopefuly I have many, many years ahead of me ( my primary care said, Had I not done this, I would have not seen my 50th b-day).
I really enjoy life now!!!!! Thanks DR."C".

I know, its a scary feeling. I have been fishing every friday after work and the first thing in my trunk is a 12 pack.. I have been backing off, I get home in fear of the DUI. I'm saving it for the weekends and only a few here and there(at home or w/ a DD). It was out of control for a while, at least 10 per night. no more.

I am scared for you there pal. Beer, man, are you nuts? Are you willing to destroy what you have accomplished? Is beer carbonated? It isn't any of my business, and we will be here for you, but when you start packing on the weight, don't start whining, just start saying no to the beer. I never want to diet again, and I eat anything I want, and I drink anything I want, I don't want alcohol, so I don't touch it, but CARBONATION? Never, you are setting yourself up for a failure. Backing off from 10 a night? LOL, have you ever questioned why you can eat 2 1/2 cups at time? Our goal really is to eat 1 1/2 cups, maybe you are a big fella and need more, but the beer, why take a chance? Good luck there.
All you guys that have gained weight from drinking beer, come out come out where ever you are, scare our pal here into some common sense!

I thank you for your kind words and congrats for reaching your goal!!
I wrote a long response to your message but then I realized that I would probably ofend half if not most folks in here. There is a lot of nice folks in this group and definetly would not want to be singled out as "the bad guy".
I'll keep my coments to myself and wish everyone a great weekend!!!!
