Christina,
Is it just me or are you not eating enough?? Is this a daily routine? Girl, you are concerning me!
I actually have added 2 protein shakes to my day lately and have been getting back to basics, if you will. I have a problem going through the day with no snacking at all so I will eat string cheese or some type of nuts or jerky.
Yesterday and today though, I've made a few poor choices...ate a few pieces of candy, a couple cookies...you know the drill (or maybe you don't) but it's ok. I am trying not to beat myself up too badly for it and just get back on track.
Bridge, good for you girl on planning your meals today. Maybe one day I will get that disciplined!!
Love you all!

What have I eaten today?
Everything in sight!
This baby is in the rapid growth phase, and I am starving all the time.
Let's see.
Breakfast - Zone perfect protien bar, Coffee
Snack - low sugar cereal bar
Lunch - 1 lean budget gourmet frozen lunch
Snack - apple, fuji (my favorite), handful of peanuts
Ok maybe its not as bad as it seems...I still have an orange and a cup of yogurt to go before the end of the work day.
Dinner, 1 cup chili
Snack before bed, 1 cup low sugar cereal and 1/2 carb countdown milk.
Sometime around 3 am, snack low sugar cereal bar.
OK, I feel better....it really isn't all that bad considering my situation
Mary
UP 20 pounds and six weeks to go.

ROFLOL............you really had me going there! I was thinking Waaaaahhhht?
Yeah those were the good ole days~ <sigh>. The only thing I miss on your menu would be the pancakes and strawberries. I stayed away from pancakes for years, and then a couple of years ago I was out for bkfreast and gave in and ordered pancakes. Boy was that good! Love em~

Karen,
I think it's just you. Maybe it's me, I don't know!! LOL When I saw what Bridget had for breakfast.. that is more than I eat all day long.. so maybe I am not getting enough in?? Who knows? I'll ask Dr. C when I see him on Thursday. I do usually eat dinner though.. but I try not to snack at all. I can't afford the calories, and don't usually get hungry anyway. I have protein bars, peanuts, and stuff like that in my desk in case I get hungry, just that I usually don't get hungry til dinner time. I'm weird I guess.. lol

Christina,
I don't think it is so weird. A lot of us are hardwired for nightime. I have always been more of a night person than a day person. I am not usually hungry in the morning, not too hungry at lunch time, but by 6PM the appetite is really gearing up. I have always been that way. Unfortunately that is not so good for weight issues, but it very natural for me. I have tried to be a breakfast person, get up eat, and get my day going as they say. But it is not what my body is telling me to do for sure. You might just be dealing with your internal clock~

Carol,
That makes PERFECT sense now. I was on nights for so long that I would sleep all day and have my main meal at work when I start or before I went into work. So that does make sense to me. Thanks!!
Also when I said Bridget ate more before lunch than I eat in a day.. I need to clarify.. I don't think Bridget is eating too much.. but she's on the "Maintenance phase" now and doesn't want to lose any more weight. Therefore, she has to increase her caloric intake. I, on the other hand, am still in the losing phase. I still have a few lbs to go before I hit goal. So I need to keep doing what I am doing.
There are days that I eat more, and days that I eat about as much as today. It depends. I also notice I have a pattern. Like if I am in school, those days I eat very little. I get hungry around break and that is why I have the beef jerky with me so I can have a couple pieces and it fills me up and I'm good.
I was always a binge eater so I would eat one or two very large meals a day. Now I eat a few small meals and feel good about that. I do have days where I feel as if all I had done was eat all day. I don't like those days. Usually that is when I am having a bad day or whatever. I am trying to avoid that at all costs. I am so afraid now of gaining my weight back that maybe I do consciously eat less than I should, just to prevent that. I am sure that is a different type of eating disorder that will be discovered? Who knows? Right now I feel good about myself, my choices, and my eating. I think I'm ok right now. We'll see how I am in a year!! LOL

I figured.....
I need the protein.... and I eat 5 meals a day! Have to, I have to get my engine burning and keep it burning. if you dont get enough calories it WONT burn...... I need protein, if we malabsorb so much of what we consume.. you HAVE to intake more, you have to force it, no matter if your hungry or not. That's how I have seen it the past year, and I feel like that helped me get to goal in 7 months. This is what has worked for me... also I think the preops get a good look at the fact that you arent going to starve either... you can still EAT after WLS... and boy can I Im just trying to make the right choices n stuff... i dont want my body attacking my muscles for the protein... but hmmmm maybe that will assist with making my calves smaller

to eat or not to eat???
I am reading what you all eat and it goes to show we are all so different with our needs.
My menu today:
7:00 coffee (new habit hated coffee pre wls...go figure)
10:00 total protein w/ 1% lactaid (1/2 reg. serving size)
12:00 6 reduced fat wheat thins
1:00 1/2 cup chili from Roadhouse
2:00 iced green tea
3:00 1/3 of strive protein bar (yumm )
5:00 cheese stick
7:00 leaving now to eat with family @ Pollo Loco. (trying their chicken for the fisrt time)
Today I was kinda snacky-er than usual.
What to you think, I need to eat more or less??

I would be starving if that was all I was eating Rain. My stomache gets a sort of acidy-empty feeling. I can go longer in the morning without eating a lot, but by the evening I have to eat. The funny thing is I can't drink coffee anymore! I used to love coffee in the AM, now it just makes my stomach hurt and feel all raw. It doesnt seem like you are eating that much to me. Do you feel hungry? Today I had a real carby craving day. I am more of a vegie person, I miss all my vegies. My stomache is not that happy with proteins yet. I had vegies all day today, zuchini, mushrooms, potatoe/onions w/ mushrooms, beets, by this evening I had some cottage cheese w/ chicken. I had some Triscuits today, some peanut butter crackers, and this AM, I had a cookie! I know that was really bad! I was cleaning out the lunch packing section of my kitchen cabinets for my daughter and there were chocolate chip cookies! That was my breakfast~

Carol!!! OMG A COOKIE!!!
I know I am over reacting....but how did you do. No dumping?
I am so afraid I won't have a reaction and then I can't control it.
Your a brave girl!!
Not eating enough? Well, I really don't seem to be able to eat more.
We just got back from Pollo Loco and served myself a thigh some beans and coleslaw.
Funny me, had 2 bites of each item and felt like I was stuffed. I waste alot of food.
I ate a little quickly and it was the first time I had whole chicken as opposed to chicken in soup or something wet.
Oh well, I am loving not eating like a ravenous woman. I'll take this restriction over my old ways any day!!
