Default Mayo Question

I have a mayo question....

I can't stand FF mayo. Seriously, I cannot stand it. The taste, thought, smell, everything about it makes me want to gag.

So... I have a question. Should I cut mayo out all together... or is it okay to eat regular mayo in moderation? By moderation I mean with things I'd normally eat mayo with... chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad, etc. Those are the only things I'd eat mayo with normally, and I generally never eat more than a Tbsp of it.

I'm just wondering. Thanks!

Thankfully, I have never acquired a taste for mayo of any shape or description.

I use FF plain yogurt - is it worth giving that a try. I like adding chopped herbs - chives especially.

I can't stand the FF mayo either. I have pretty much given it up. I did have 3 bites of potato salad and it had regular mayo in it but It will not be a habit for me. Sorry I don't have any words of wisdom!

I say - eat the mayo - in moderation!!! I don't do condiments in general - hate mustard, ketchup, pickles, - but I can tolerate mayo. I try to have the low fat stuff now and again, but yuck. So, I do use the regular mayo. But the amounts I use are soooooo small, and it makes what I'm eating taste better so I do eat what I'm supposed to (proteins). I say all things are possible - just in the right moderation.

Anything that's supposed to have fat, to me, tastes horrible fat-free... mayo, cheese, ranch dressing, etc. BUT, the "lite" versions (reduced fat) usually are pretty good and nearly indistinguishable from the regular stuff.

I hate fat free mayo too... BUT.. I LOVE the Helmanns light (or if you are out west... that would be Best Foods...). Worth a try.. they have little bitty jars.

I'm a Best Foods Light gal. I thought I'd have a hard time converting from the full fat version but it really hasn't been hard with the light version. You may find you can't tolerate the regular or any mayo now. Your tastes and levels of tolerance change so you just never know what your pouch will welcome or reject.

I use extra Guldens in my tuna and chicken salads now so they are moist enough without the extra mayo, even the light version.

you are so early post op, I would advise waiting. The reason is that I have heard several people dump on mayo.

I was never a fan of it myself and only eat it occasionally 2 years post.

Any kind of food high in fat or sugar can make people dump.

One more thing ...I always suggest following all the rules for as long as you can....the better the outcome.
