Different doctors must have different ways....when I go on the pre-op liquid diet next month for 2 weeks my doctor says it will be protein shakes and all the veggies and fruit I want. Plus knock off the caffeine and carbonated drinks. (fine w/me) I think I can handle that. I hope!

I actually went on a self-inflicted LSD diet. The doctor put me on a 90g protein and 30g carbs diet a month and a half prior to surgery and I lost 25lbs. The last month waiting for surgery though, I drank 3 protein shakes a day, and ate one solid food meal high in protein (usually chicken or beef of some sort) with some veggies a day.

I can only imagine how disappointing the liquid diet is... My doc requires nothing more than for me to not eat anything after midnight the day before surgery. Good Luck To You

so i did great until my daughter sat and ate a big and tasty with fries on our way home from the mall! i just sat there and cried! it was like this huge ball of emotions coming out---this is the first time in my life that food isn't always going to be there for me...it was a huge turning point (i think) for me. i knew that just one bite would set me up for failure, so i just hung tight and waited for it to be over...i heard the first 3 days are the hardest...i came home and drank a cup of broth and now have pledged to use TT for my new addiction to ride the tide out!!! thanks to all of you and your caring shoulders for me to cry on! love ya!
