Not only do we need higher concentrations in our vitamins, most of us need a different preparation. Now there are some that do just fine, but once you get deficient, it is hard to regain the ground.
Iron needs to be ferrous fumurate or glycinate (not sulphate) and calcium shouldn't be carbonate. Our absorption is so variable, there are no rules for everyone, just guidelines that I follow to be on the safe side.
