Default Bump & Add...

Just wanted to share my experiences so far...

First a note- there are 2 different brands of protein drinks called Isopure. One is the clear liquid Whey isolate in bottles, the other is more like your typical milky/creamy and powder protein shakes. Just an FYI.

Things I Love:
~Isopure drinks. (the clear kind), esp Apple/Melon. 40g Protein, no carbs
~Premier Nutrition Protein shakes, Chocolate (at Costco). 30g Protein in 11oz
~Unjury protein powder- this is the ONLY protein powder that I have found to completely dissolve in water....
~ Chobani (sp?) Greek Yogurt. The plain FF has the highest protein count (18g in 6oz, I think?) I can't stand the plain flavor by itself, so I add in a sprinkle of Crystal Light, whatever flavor I feel like having... I also add the unflavored Unjury powder if I need a big protein boost)
~ FF Cottage Cheese. Yum.
~Angus burger patties with 1 slice cheese. (the patty alone has 30g protein, no carbs. most of the fat drips off on the grill) I can only eat about 1/2 a patty per meal, but this is an easy way to get a high protein meal.
~ Precious String Cheese. 7g protein, 1g carb per stick.I can only eat about 2 of these at a time. I can't stand the taste of some string cheeses, but this one I LOVE.
~ Crystal Light SF POPSICLES!! Yes, they sell these. I go through like, 2 boxes a week. I LOVE THEM!
~ CarbSmart Ice Cream. 4g sugar, 2g protein. This does have sugar alcohols in it, but mostly Splenda is used. I can only eat a couple small spoonfuls of this, so it is a very nice treat. French Vanilla flavor
~ SF Fudgesicles. These helped me through the first couple of post-op weeks. Yum yum!
~ Turkey Hot Dogs. bad, I know. But when I am craving naughty food, I have just a single weenie (lol) with ketchup. 7g protein, 1g carb, 12g fat. So more fat than anything, but if its a hot dog or go crazy, I will have a hotdog.
~ Crystal Light single serve packets. I put this in my big water bottle with ice- helps me keep track of how much I have gotten in. Although I can finally tolerate plain water, CL got me through the first couple of weeks.
~ Propel single serve packets. Same as above, this was my fave before surgery, although for some reason I prefer the stronger flavors of CL after surgery.

I have also found I can go out to Mexican restaurants and either order a children's meal or just a single Chicken Enchilada... I eat the chicken out of the middle with the cheese from the top... plus a bite of beans and a bite of the rice. PLENTY of food, and this keeps me busy for the entire meal so not too much awkwardness. Helps make me feel like a normal person.

Thanks so much for this thread Lisa- awesome!!
