Default Protein drinks, drinking other liquids, and too much protein?

Ok I know this is probably a stupid question but all of a sudden I am not sure I am doing this right. I just started drinking protein drinks, I have the AchievOne drinks (wow are they good) and the EAS carb smart drinks. I started because I can only eat enough food now to get my protein in and need to eat more veggies.
Anyway I was wondering if it is a problem to drink protein drinks with other liquids? I drink one protein drink a day in between meals. Usually between breakfast and lunch. But I sip it like I sip water and usual I am drinking water or Crystal Lite along with it, in another glass. I also have done the same thing with milk. I figure they are both liquid so it does not seem like it should be a problem but I am wondering if I am correct.
Also now that I added the protein drink I am getting a lot of protein. I am still trying to find a vegetable that works for me. But I get anywhere between 80- 100 grams of protien a day. A couple of times I have gone slightly over 100 is this a problem. Am I getting too much protein in?

have you tried steamed zucchini? that was the first veggie I tried, I put some spray butter and a squeeze of lemon juice on it and it was delicious!

As far as too much protein, I don't think you are getting too much. I actually had a hard time with protein supplement so the first couple of months I rarely made my 50 grams a day limit. Now I average about 85 grams a day but I don't supplement at all.

My doctor wants us to get 100 grams of protien in daily - its the standard for her patients. By doing so, I lost almost no hair, and I feel great!!! Keep up the good work

Protein....depends on who you talk to regarding the safe levels. I also consider physical exercise. If you are working out, you need the extra protein, so 100g is not out of the norm.

Going too low can cause us problems. The body can only absorb so much protein at one time, so having large amounts at one time doesn't do much for you and in some cases can be hard on your system. Spread the protein out throughout the day, keep up the fluids and its fine.

Some studies show problems in your system (normal people) with high levels of protein for long periods, but from what I know under 100g a day is not considered high protein. Atkins has done studies on this, the dietician will balk at some of his stuff, and really you can sit on the fence on this one. Who really knows. With us having a bypass, we absorb less and that could be different with us, so do we really know how much of it we absorb?
