Default Ok Gang, Is hubby right ?

He keeps telling me I don't need to take extra protein anymore. Personally I really don't think I am getting in the required amount without it. My usual menu is yogurt or scrambled egg or oatmeal (weight control) /breakfast
soup or salad/ lunch
cheese stick or grapes/ snack
dinner is usually a meat and veggies.
My problem is that I do "snack" with triskets (which really don't have much protein) So If I don't get in that "extra" protein I'm short. He says the calories is what keeping me from losing any more. Here is the info.
Serving Size 45 milliliters
Servings Per Container 10
Amount Per Serving % DV

Calories 90.00 4%

Sodium 90.00 mg 2%

Total Carbohydrate 5.00 g 36%

Sugars 5.00 g

Protein 18.00 g

** Daily Value (DV) not established

Other Ingredients: Hydrolyzed Gelatin, Crystalline Fructose, Citric Acid, Natural Flavors, Artificial Flavor, FD&C Red #40, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate

So what do you think ?

My first questions would be how many grams of protein does your doc/nutritionist recommend for you and how many are you getting strictly from food?

I'm supposed to shoot for 60-80g /day and couldn't do it at this stage right now w/o sipping a 40g Isopure throughout the day.

We try and target 60-75 grams of protein a day. Skip the triscuits and shoot for string cheese or a protein bar.

I aim for 60 grams of protein, always get in 40g from real food, so I supplement with protein bar and/or protein drink to get to 60+. Some days I succeed with it. I am one of the ones that has to keep to my meals, without snacking and no way I could eat crackers and get away with it for long.

There is protein in crackers, rice, pasta, orzo.....but I don't count this as protein!.....carbs all the way!
