Default Diet Soda Drink

I am almost 5 month post op and have started drinking diet pop again. My bariatric nurse said that was bad because it could stretch the pouch out. What happens if the pouch gets stretched. Please help

I drink Diet Coke with Splenda and got a few others hooked...sorry. This is a very controversial subject.

When I said something to my doctor about not drinking diet soda he looked at me and said " you can have soda" I may have one once in a while but my taste has changed I prefer either the crystal light tea or the 4C diet tea / splenda.

I am over 2 years out and I have a diet soda about once a week maybe at most 2 a week. I would try to stay away from it so early out but that is just my personal thoughts. The first year to 18 months I stayed away from soda, carbs(bad ones), sweets and anything I felt I couldn't control how much I ate. Now that I am 2 years out if I want something I have it in small amounts. I have learned I can eat anything I want is small amounts and as long as I keep on working out. I am still losing at two years out or I should actually say I have started losing again. I lose about 5lbs stay there for 2-3 months then drop 2 or 3 more lbs which is ok with me.

Just remember everyone is different and you have to make your own path in the process.

yes, yes..I drink Strawberry Nirvana made with a Splenda base. They have a few with Splenda...called Enlightened drinks. I love them. At first, I could only drink a small one or I would dump...now i can drink the medium. Sometimes, they make me hungry though...I think it is the carb content.

My wife is five years out from her BPD , and drinks coke all day everyday. Much to my horror she wont stop drinking it. She has maintained her weight though even through two pregnancies .Dont worry I am forever telling her of the perils of drinking Coke and other carbonated beverages. I was told that carbonated drinks leech calcium from your system , but I am not sure how true that is. Never the less I dont drink em myself.
