You're welcome, Pam. My Nutritionist has really been helpful with so much information. I've been blessed to have a really great nutritionist post-op. My surgeon's office has Nutritionists, Behaviorists and a Exercise Therapist. It makes me feel really good to know that I am dealing with people who know about WLS patients.

Thanks Beth for the list and Carrie for the bump. I'm concerned over the polydextrose thing. Is this something that will be listed in the ingredients? Are there any other names it could be listed under?

Thanks to anyone that knows.

I looked at my Atkins bar after reading this post, and there it was, polydextrose! I work for a GI practice, so I called one of my docs in and asked him about it. He hadn't heard of this causing blockages, and felt I'd have to consume a LOT of it to cause a blockage, but still, he just wasn't sure about it, so I will ask Dr Sasse about it next week. (He's my surgeon). I wonder what else it's in. As you know, I had a blockage 1 week after my surgery and had to have a 2nd surgery. I will do anything I can to avoid another blockage! So, if I have to toss my $30 box of Atkins bars, I will! I just had a SF Oreo cookie and I see it has dextrose..but not polydextrose....now I'm looking on every label for it! I am going to go look online and research this....I am very concerned....

Carrie, thanks for the bump.

To everyone wondering about the polydextrose, I'm going to see if I can get some more information on that. The 2 women who sent out this list (Little Victories Support Specialists) are extremely knowledgable and keep up with the newest information out there. So, this info may be something rather new. I'm going to e-mail the 2 of them to see if I can gather anymore information for all of you.
