Hello Delane!
My name is Valerie and I live on the East Coast of FL close to Cocoa Beach.....about 45 mins from the mouse.
I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm in the middle of a fight with my insurance company right now and have had to hire an Attorney.
I can only imagine that once you loose even "some" of your weight that you hubby.....#1. is going to be like "WOW"....#2. want sex more....#3. you'll be able to do to him what you want to do it him (comfortably).
I'm looking forward to this as well. I sometimes feel that I don't excite my hubby as much as I could (without all of my weight). By the way, we have been together for 6 yrs..married for 1.5 of them. I also brought to the marriage 2 boys (16 & 14).

Thanks
Wow it sound like you are really going through a lot with you insurance, I hope it all gets resolved soon. And yes I am looking forward to being more sexy to my husband, he doesn't complain now, but I know how much different he was 10 years ago when I weighed a lot less. I also can't wait to be join in all the activities that we do as a family, a lot of the time is sit out because I give out of breath so easy or my legs hurt. I have already started walking and Im up to 3 miles a day and my husband and son bought a home gym so I am trying to do some little things on it as to help me tone and all. After I heal from my surgery I want to keep up the walking and excising. Let me know how things go for you and I will keep you posted on my end. Good luck. Delane

Delane,
Nerves are perfectly normal at this stage and they will probably increase the closer you get. But just keep your mission in site and keep pushing forward... keep doing everything that you have been doing. Best of luck to you on your surgery recovery and life after as a LOSER!!!

Hi Delane.....Congrats..I got my date too, it is 2/16/09. They asked me if I wanted Feb 4th, but that was too soon and I needed time to make plans for my kids, my teaching job, and to be able to keep all my appts.....
So the 16th is a Holiday and I will not have to burn a sick day at work.....I am excited and nervous and worried.
Did you receive your pre-op diet to follow? I think that makes me the most nervous. There is nothing to eat on it, lol...I am sure I will drop 10-15 pounds in the 2 weeks on the diet they gave me to follow.
Anyhow, I am super excited for you!!!!!!!!
Good luck,
Mell

Yes I did get my diet and boy is it tough, I started it today and I must say that I had a ruff day. I do a carnation instant breakfast in the morning and then a slimfast high protein for lunch and then I can have a small dinner with no carbs and high in protein, with vegie's. Like I said I had a ruff day, but tomorrow is another day so I will start again. Good Luck.

You guys are SO, SO lucky to have received your surgery dates. I'm still playing the waiting game, between my Attorney and Insurance company.
Tapping my fingers here....not getting any healthier or smaller!

Delane,
Congratulations on getting your surgery date! You are really blessed to have an insurance provider that is making this an easy (well easier) process for you.
As far as physical activity post-op, basically EVERYTHING is better/easier. When you are big, you get used to dealing with weight related inconveniences. So much so that you may not even realize that you are doing it (becomes routine). When you start loosing the weight you'll, of course, notice the big changes, but you'll also find a lot of little "wows" (like, for me, being able to fit in a restaurant booth or not getting tired walking to the parking lot). Anyway, apprehension is normal for any type major surgery. Just remember that you have a lot to look forward to (trust me).
Good Luck,
Jim
