Ok, Judy...I'm back in. October was a wash since I fell off the exercise wagon and just couldn't get back on track. I'm going to try again this month. Kick my butt from time to time, just to hold me accountable!*lol*

Alright Audrey! Glad to see you back in! So how was your Susan G Komen race? I had a great time at mine, but it was very cold and rainy (well sprinkley) that day. It was still a good time.
I'm trying to run every other day now. I was trying to run almost everyday and I think I was getting a little burn out. I want to continue to enjoy running and not dread it so much. I do enjoy it, mostly, but there are those days when I just have a hard time getting my butt in gear.
Anyway, Hope you have a great month and keep me posted!!

Judy, the race was great! It was sunny, but not hot. Great weather! The group I was with is motivated to tackle the 3-day walk next year! I would love to do this and I think I'll be more than ready for it next year.
Yep...I'm going to alternate days, too. I need to do some weight training, but don't like running and using weights on the same day, especially on days where I do leg exercises. I did get 2 miles in this morning, though. Considering that I hadn't run in a few weeks, I was surprised that I still had the stamina for 2 miles!*lol*

Trying again
Hello all- Well I really need my butt kicked. I try every month and never make it past the first week of trying. My surgery was August 14th and my exercise has been minimal ( well except for chasing my 18 month old daughter around) . I was doing fairly well 1.5 miles in 20 mins 3 x a wek at the end of October and then came down with an awful cold that I am still holding on to. Well, let's see what November may bring. Thanks, everyone! Oh yes, my goal at least 3x a week 20 mins on treadmill.

I'm still pre-op, doing my six month diet, but if I could be allowed to participate?
I'm still huge and so even walking is fairly laborious, but I am trying for miles instead of speed record! (I really miss running.... but hey, it is something to look forward too.)
Goal: 1 mile 5 days a week at a pace where I can talk, but not sing.

Didn't make it out to walk Friday. My normal walking buddy was unavailable and I just put it off until it was too late.
The weekend though was more active than most, especially Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to find that otherwise incidental things seem easier. I don't feel like I am hobbling around quite as much. Still no graceful ballerina though!
Been looking at recumbant bikes. I think my husband would use it too and we have a great spot for it. Just need to find one that won't crumble beneath my weight!

Alright guys!!
You all are doing great, but let's bump it up a notch! Let's really focus on making our goal this week! It's going to get more and more difficult as the weather gets colder and we get closer to the holidays. Let's keep our minds and bodies focused on our goals and we will achieve them! Let's put the past behind us, we can't do anything about it now. Let's look forward and make a genuine promise to ourselves that we will do this...no matter what our goal is, that we will accomplish it!
Best wishes to all of you! Keep us posted!!

OK,
I don't know if I purposefully avoided posting here because that way I "thought" I wouldnt have to exercise, but, I guess being accountable is a good thing.
I have done well exercising- the colder weather means it is back inside and the track at the local fitness track is short(lots of corners),so I am mixing up my running on the track with the treadmill, elliptical and then playing tennis and weight training.
Still doing 4-5 miles 5 times a week, but not straight jogging and can't really adequately judge my time.
I am just trying to maintain my current levels right now until we figure out my health issues a little bit, I also have to have my veins worked on this month(or December) so that will put me "back" a little as well,
Wow, does this sound like one excuse after another? Not trying to, but, as long as I just keep going, it is a good thing.
Thanks for keeping this thread in my "thoughts", Exercise is such a valuable part of my weight loss and also has been great for my mental health as well.
Get out there and participate- one step at a time.
