Default Is the $900 boot camp worth it?

So I'm getting married in February (at my one year post-op) and my weight loss has started to slow (I'm 7 months out). I go to the gym but could probably go more, but am thinking about signing up for a 12 week bootcamp. It's pretty intense with three 90-minute sessions per week along with cardio regimen for the other days. The total cost is $900 so I'm debating if I should do it or not. On one hand, it would be nice to have the motivation, but on the other hand, it is 20-minutes from my house and at 5am and hella expensive. Thoughts? Has anyone done anything like this before? Worth it?

I haven't done a boot camp but I have sprung for a trainer and I will say that I got way better results when working with the trainer that when working on my own. They will make you do things that you don't normally do when working out on your own. I think that the boot camp would be worth it if you have the $ to afford it.

i would put that money towards a trainer.
we loved it, and my trainer was all pumped up about me losing weight when my husband and i bought and shared one. it was fun. however, i stopped seeing her because she was also a nutritionist, and she began to ask how i was dieting as well. i told her atkins and she flipped! she was seriously concerned for my health (i understand) and she started guilting me saying - you are a healthcare professional, you should know better. stuff like that. so i tried to do what she said diet wise, and guess what - of course the weight piled back on. so i ended up stopping going. i really liked her, i'll be honest, but the fact that she wasn't supportive of my diet did make it more difficult on me. she let me know, that was for sure. i have to say that i think she did that out of sheer concern. so i'll defend her on that. she was never mean or rude about it, and she was a good trainer too.
my advice is to find someone who is supportive of your diet - your bypass or your band. i would think that would be really easy. the goal is for them to be really supportive and motivational.

i say use that with a trainer! much better spent that way because he will "feel" your needs and put you on a strict regime.

I was going to suggest a personal trainer too, before I even read the others' responses. I think you'll save a lot of money and also get more one on one time. A trainer will be able to target specific needs or even areas that you want to work on instead of being in a big class where you might not have that personalization. I'm not saying that the boot camp doesn't sound awesome, but I think you'll get better results from a personal trainer. Plus, I'm sure you could use some of that extra money on some sexy lingere for the honeymoon!!!

PS. I hear ya on the slowing down, but you're still doing great!

Hiya,
My sis has done a bootcamp program here in SD at both Mission Bay & Balboa Park. I don't know who it was with but she loved it and I know it didn't cost anything like that.
Try out a couple of classes to see if it's something that you enjoy & motivates you...if it doesn't then you know you should spend your hard-earned moola somewhere else!
