Default New Group...TT Road Runners

Hi Everyone,

As you may or may not know, I am really into running! I've been running for about 6 months now and I have competed in 5 road races. I'm not fast by any means, but I enjoy the social aspect of running and it is really great exercise.

Well, I've noticed lately that there are a lot more runners poping up here on TT! I think that is fantastic! Running is a lot of fun, but it can be difficult at times when you're out there all alone. Even though we can't physically be with each other to encourage one another, I thought it would be a great idea if we could have a virtual running club and join together to post our goals and accomplishments and just have a place where we can chat and encourage each other.

So, if you're interested, please check out the TT Road Runners group in the Social Groups section. All are welcome to join this group from beginners, to seasoned runners, to people that are just thinking about running!

If you want to join, just reply to this post. I'll give you a number and everything

Default Bump

I haven't seen any responses and I know there are a bunch of runners out there! So I figured I give this one a bump!

I'll Jump. Running is what keeps me sane( as much as is possible.) I am running 7-10 miles 5 times a week. I "was" training for a 1/2 marathon, next week, but don't think I am quite ready- I could run and "walk" portions, but it is one in Chicago along the lake and if you don't make it to the 'turn" by a certain time, they make you go back on a different course. (I think I would be fine timewise, just don't want to have to go back on the "losers" course.
But-- Include me in the group. I am definetly "hooked" on the running bug.

Great! Amy, I'm so glad you are joining in! I was hoping you would. If you haven't already, go to the Groups section (along the top bar) and join the TT Road Runners group. I have a post in there where we can log our miles/goals for the month of September. I hope you are doing well and I am so jealous of your stamina (it's all good!). I can run 3-4 miles right now, but I don't think I have the mental capacity to run 7-10 miles, let alone a 1/2 marathon. I never realized before I started running how it is a very mental sport as well as physical. Anyway, I hope you are doing well, and keep us updated on your goals!

Take Care,

When I start running on a regular basis I would love to join. Right now I don't think I count, lol! I think I'm going to try to do a 5k on Thanksgiving, so I better start working a little harder on it.

Even if you're just thinking about running, you're welcome to join! I want this to be a place where we can all encourage each other from newbies to experienced runners. You can definitely achieve your goal of doing a 5k on Thanksgiving...and what an awesome thing to be thankful for...this new life where you can actually do things like this that you wouldn't have done before! That is awesome!

Take Care

Default Count me in!!

I would love to join!!! I would say right now I am more of a "fast" walker than a runner, but I hope to get myself to running status soon!!!!

Hey Katie!

I'm glad you're joining! You know, fast walking is just as good as running! It's just that once your body gets used to it, you feel the need to speed it up and running/jogging is just the next natural progression. I get so excited seeing people really getting into walking/running. Now go over to the September Running/Walking Goals thread and start posting your goals and accomplishments for the month!

Take Care!
