I eat a serving of peanut butter filled pretzels before the gym in the morning. I've worked out fasted and end up feeling tired rather than rejuvenated. Eating those 13g of carbs really helps out, then drink my protein after working out. I also hydrate during my workout with 32 oz. of water.
