Default pre workout protein to build muscle

Since my surgery (3 months ago), im down 80lbs. As for exercise, ive been doing mostly walking and some jogging. Im getting more enery now and I think its time to do some weightlifting. My question is: Is there any protein shake or supplement I can take to help me fuel my muscles? I went to my health store and the guy there recomended Dymatize Xpand for fuller pumps and faster recovery. I asked if it was safe for WLS Patients and he didnt know. To me it looks safe, meaning no sugar and no caffein.

Anybody use any supplements or proteing to pack some muscle??

Thank you

Look for protein supplements that contain whey or soy isolate protein, as that is best absorbed.
