Yeah I'll probably be walking most of it. It's just at Fashion Island or around it and while 2 of my coworkers will be running one will be about my pace and the other one would be glad to join because she hates running. Yeah not the most considerate thing signing the entire office up for the run, but it's good motivation for a good cause (my health and breast cancer!)

Default Comcast?

If you have Comcast On Demand you can run/walk up to 3 miles in your own living room.

It's a difference from the treadmill and it's great for rainy days or weird work/sleep hours.

So..
- On Demand
- Sports and Fitness
- Excersize TV
- Start Walking (second page)
- 1/2/3 Mile

It's pretty good, and works very well. You can also download them online, or find the DVD's at local stores.

Hope it helps! Good luck, I know you can do it!

Thanks! I'll see if Cox has something like it. My mom has some of the walking DVDs I'll probably try to mix things up too!

Default Running my first "organized" 5k"

I am proud to hear that you are accepting the challenge to run your work's 5k. REmember, that you need to warm up for this event before- take shorter sections where you burst int speed then walk. I never was a runner prior to surgery- not even up until this year. I noticed that my legs were holding all of my weight so decided for myself to run a 5kk- it had to be a fairly large organized one or I know me- I would have "forgotten" it. I ahve discovered since my first run- I like to run- It is the first time I feel that the exercise I am doing is helping- My heart really gets pumping and I am competitve- it can be between the other races or agianst myself to imrpove my time.
I ahve now done 2 5k,1- 10k and am scheudled for another 10 k next month and- get this- a 1/2 marathon in CHicago in September. I never thought I would do this.SUrprise yourself- RUnning and you may "click" it did with me.
Since you are pre-surgery, makesure that you dont have any health issues that would infringe upon your racing. Good Luck and keep me informed...
