Default Suggestions for a 45 minute gym workout

I just got a new job and I joined a gym that is across the street from where I work. I can spend about 45 minutes there during lunch each day. When I joined, they are allowing me to start using the gym now, but they aren't going to take the money for it out of my account till I get paid. I get 2 free sessions with a personal trainer to help me set up a fitness program BUT I can't use them until I actually pay them (which won't be till July 3). I joined on Monday and then went for the first time during lunch today but it has been FOREVER since I belonged to a gym so I was little overwhelmed with my choices. I ended up just spending the whole time on the treadmill doing its "fatburning" routine.

I'm looking for suggestions about how I should spend my 45 minutes each day at lunch just until the trainer sets me up on a program. I was thinking I would probably stick to just using the machines like the treadmill, elliptical, and cycles until I met with the trainer. Should I focus on higher intensity workouts, lower intensity "fat burning" ones, alternate them on different days, do some of both each day? Suggestions?

I'm not a personal trainer, but FI is studying to get his certification right now. However, I made up my own workout routine.

I do 25 minutes on the rowing machine (and wow, I can see the difference in my arms), 25 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the recumbant cycle. Every other day I do some of the nautilus machines. Low weight and many many reps.

If I had to cut it down, I'd probably do 15 minutes on the rowing machine and 20 minutes on the elliptical. Then do some weights, switching off between arms and legs (you're not supposed to work the same muscles two days in a row).

Good luck! Sounds like a great deal!
