Default Pilates... Ballet... Is it possible after WLS?

I've heard some things and was wondering if anyone does Pilates or Ballet. Those were my two favorite forms of exercise a while back but I heard your tummy doesn't let you do alot of stretching exercises. Is that true? Or is that just right for a while after surgery?

"Never" having exercised, I have discovered and absolutely thrive on pilates - a brilliant way to carry me over a stall.
gently does it - tell your pilates instructor about your surgery so that your exercises are designed around your new contours.
Go for it!
- Love opera too! what are your favourites?
Cheers,
Vim

I do pilates and LOVE It! No problems whatsoever - on fact I can see the results much more now that my muscles aren't hidden under so much fat.

Default Love Pilates

Pilates is an excellent exercise regimine and also good for mental conditioning. If you use the reformer then that's the best. If you have access to one then try it for a couple weeks. You'll fall in love with it. Find a qualified Pilates instructor, that's important. With or without WLS, it's great. I've never heard of or thought there'd be a reason I couldn't do it just because I had surgery.

Ballet is also good, and they go well together.

As another poster said, you'll find huge rewards doing Pilates post-op. With all the fat gone, you can FEEL the muscles building and strengthening. It gives you a long lean look and is low impact. I'm glad I found it before I turned 40.
