Default I hit my first stall...

Ok, with everything that is going on in the lives of some of our dear friends here, I feel like a fool for posting this..

After 19-20 months of having a weight loss every month, I have hit a stall. Sounds dumb & selfish, but it is what it is.

I work as a cleaning person 5 days a week, 15 hours a week. I walk to & from work which is about 3 miles round trip.

Does anyone have any good ideas on excercise? I'm too cheap to join a gym plus I tend to bulk up REALLY quickly when I weight lift. After a 81kg/179.5lb weight loss, there is TOO much flab, flub & flappy stuff to even BEGIN to consider putting this body in a swimsuit, so swimming is out. I have severe ADHD, so yoga is out. I'd lose my mind having to be all mellow & stuff. They'd probably throw me out for talking constantly anyway. I've been thinking about Pilates, but right now I can't find a group. Powerwalking is about the only thing I can think of. I'm still too fat to run...Having said that I can *sort of* jog/jog-walk for 100-150 yards without dropping dead.
Any & all suggestions are welcome.
Nancy

Take a 10 minute very brisk walk 5 times a day. This will break your stall. increase your calories for 3-4 days as well, then go bac to your normal reduced calorie routine. Works everytime. Good luck sugar pea!

I hit a few of those stalls along the way. What I did was to change up my workout routine, do more cardio and eat foods that tend to help with fat burning. I would always eat grapefruit along with my meals. Maybe changing your diet will spark more weight loss. But there is no alternative to exercise, the more you do, the more you lose.

You know what, folks? I never even thought about changing what I eat. I've been using the food plan from the hospital for so long it's just habit I eat the same things. With the occassional treat....

I cannot believe I didn't even think about my food intake.
Not sure if that's god or bad!

I would recommend a bicycle. Like you, I was concerned about weight and the associated stress on my knees from jogging, so I got a bicycle. There is no knee stress, and it's a lot of fun because you can see so many things in a short time when you are riding instead of walking or jogging. I ride on local paved trails mostly, not on busy streets, so I don't have to worry about cars. It's easy to get started on a bicycle, and as you increase your endurance, you can burn a lot of calories. Work with your local bike shop, or someone who is knowledgeable about bikes so you get one that fits you and meets your needs.

Did I mention I'm world's biggest clutz?? Here's an example: We have french doors between our livning & dining rooms. They are about 6' wide (we have an old owners apartment in a building from 1899). I often walk into either one side or the other. I miss my mouth with my tea, coffee, juice, water whatever!

I'd love to ride a bike. The last time I did, I fell sideways into a bush. We have some beautiful landscapes here..rolling farm fields & so on. There are good paths for biking & walking. DBF/DH has a fantastic racing bike so I will seriously consider this when we return from vacation in September. All my money is being saved up for the trip home.

Eating the same thing, every day can cause a stall. You need to mix things up. Good luck!
