Right now they are pretty tight and strong, but not at all defineable. So is your body fat percentage below normal and at normal. And if at normal can you truly see definition?
BTW halarious opener, abs of alum

My body fat percentage is somewhere aorund 30 right now...which isn't particularly low. I've read the same thing about a 6 pack...so, I know I'll ever have one of those. It just seems like I can see the musculature underneath. My hunny says the same thing...and he isn't a compliment-rich kinda guy.
One of the thnigs I think is happening is that the trainer has me doing oblique work as well as just the straight ab stuff...and it's really making a difference in my side profile. I'm never gonna be a bathing beauty...but I'll take what I can get.

Would you mind telling me what, other than crunches, you did for exercise before you went to the pros? It seems like you got damn close to goal without them and I'm so hoping to do the same.
So far I'm doing about an hour on a recumbent bike each day. I was planning to add a little hand weight action to it soon. I'm at a bit of a loss for abdominal stuff though other than crunches (which my back hates).

You'll never see pictures of my sharpei-ness...I figure it's a community service to not show my saggy body in public.
As far as what I did for exercise, I tried a lot of different things. You can get a set of resistance bands to use as home at Wal*Mart...they have a set here that has an instruction manual and all. I also have a set of light dumb bells that I used. Mags like Shape and Fitness have workouts in them...check 'em out and see what you think.
Google "Pliometrics". It's basically short powerful moves that increase core strength. I still do that stuff...it's actually fun. I also bought this Tont Little stepper that I used to do in front of the TV at night...not the best in the world, but at the time it served it's purpose. I also have a treadmill...
As far as the crunches go...when my back is bothering me (I have 2 herniated discs) I use my exercise ball. Just find a book or website that shows you how to do them corretly, or you're wasting your time.
It probably sounds like I have a bunch of equipment...but the biggest thing I own is the treadmill...it's on the basement so no one else has to see it. The rest of the stuff just tucks away easily, except for the ball...which I stow in the downstairs shower.
