Default Extra/Loose Skin

Aloha...
Is there anything we can do to help prevent a lot of extra/loose skin?
Will exercising help and if so, any specific exercises?
Thanks,
Mahealani

Sorry to tell you this Mahealani but I exercised like a mad thing all the way through my weight loss phase and nothing helped. I now look like a sharpei (probably spelt wrong but you know what I mean). But hey - at least it's a skinny sharpei!

Sorry to say that there doesn't seem to be anything anyone can do to prevent loose skin. The best you can do is moisturize and exercise so that even if you have loose skin, you're still looking your best.

other than surgery, there really isn't much you are going to be able to do about it.

Kinda the shitty part about loosing alot of weight. I lifted weights and worked out like crazy and still had a ton of it after all was said and done.

Thumbs up

Well, I'm 54 so loose skin not filled with fat will be a dream come true. I don't plan on wearing a bikini again. But I can understand someone younger wanting tight skin. I agree it all depends on good genes. You can always have plastic surgery when you reach your goal or maybe you will be one of the lucky ones. Looking forward to joining you in the weight loss journey.

I'm 53 and down from a size 26/28 to a 10.

Unfortunately, I reckon my skin is still probably a 22/24.

Na! - work out like a bandit but my body's like a train wreck. But hey! - it's nothing that a pair of Spanx and a nice bra doesn't support and in clothes, it's no problem.

I wouldn't trade this in for being puffy again, that's for sure.

Corrine, You must feel like a new person. I'm looking forward to wearing smaller clothes. And I'm with you on looking the best I can with what I look like after I lose this weight. Did you have many problems after the surgery? I am hoping to have mine before summer, but it all depends on the surgeon.

Have a good Sunday, Debs

I'm one of those puppies too. I look great in clothes but naked, ugh!! Really makes me feel "fat" even though I wear a size small top and size 6 pants. I suppose if I ever have PS I could fit into a 4.

Absolutely no problem Debs - other than it took me a little longer to get over the surgery because I had a big umbilical hernia taken care of at the same time.

Nothing serious though. I was home on day 2 and by the time the drain came out at 2 weeks, I was feel good - tired but good.

Debs - I not only feel like a new person but I look like a new person too - a much younger and prettier one. Go take a look for yourself: 5 months down the road ..... make sure you go to page 3 as well.
