Default A new week of excersice and I already see results

So i been going to the gym since Nov. Everything has been going good and lossing weight. So last few weeks i decided i want to kick it up a notch or two. So I made friends with a personal trainer and I told him how Im lossing weight but i still have this big gut and need to get rid of. I asked if i can do a workout with him. He gave me a one week plan and this is how it all went down....

Monday I did my usual Kickboxing (1hr) class at the gym.

Tuesday I did that 30 min session with the personal trainer.
He made me focus more on my core muscles as appose to just cardio and free weights. You really can see and feel a difference working out with a personal trainer.

Wednesday I did a executive boxing class (1hr).

OHH AM I SORE TODAY!!!!!!

Tonight im suppose to go back and do another 30 min session. Im going to try and take it easy for most of the day and see how I feel.

Interesting fact i learned. When you do cardio your body will burn fat up to 11 hours after you work out. When you do core weight training it will burn fat up to 36 hours after your workout!

Just wanted to share with everyone. Some of you might say that kickboxing and boxing is to much of a workout and you cant do it. But come on give me a break. If a once 356 lbs guy that can barely walk up a flight of stairs can do it. Im sure you can! you just have to push your self!!

I'm impressed! I'd love to try kick-boxing, yoga, or core training. My small gym has just started a form of yoga and some form of core training...I gotta try it! With kick-boxing I'm just so UNcoordinated. Also...does 30 minutes with the trainer feel like an hour?

I'm about 2 months post-op and just this past week my body has decided not to give up any pounds and around the same time I started back at the gym. Think I am probably losing inches rather than pounds due to the fact that my pants fit looser.

Keep up the fantastic work-out schedule and weight loss
!

Whew!!! Just reading your post made me tired. Sounds like you are really kicking butt. I aspire to be just like you. I am getting ready to join the gym, and reading your post helps motivate me.

Default Working out 30 min does feel like an hour

cuz he pushes you to the next level. He doesnt let you give up. Also with th Core trainining you basically only have 30 second breaks in between sets.

for instance. I will do cable work out (dont really know the name of it but you pull these cables over your chest) for 3 sets in between each set i get off the machine and do wall push ups.

The next work out we did was squat machine. IN between i would get off the machine and do reg. squats. there was about 3 other work outs then we hit the mat. on the mat we did about 5 different abs work out.

Its all about pushing your self. I have mentally figured that out. I use to like to say I CANT DO IT MY BODY IS TO HEAVY blah blah blah. I know just try it a few times before I say i cant do it. I still cant do reg. push-ups but i sure can do girl pushups! During the kickboxing/boxing classes they ask us to do 20 pushups. i go down and do 30 gurl pushups now.

When i started the kickboxing and boxing classes i use to stay in the back of the room and just try and get through the class.

Now i like to be in the middle of the room and like to push myself.

Member guys we got this surgery as a tool to get us in better shape. Now take advantage of it!!!

We are all young and amazing individuals.

Rip it up at the gym!!!!
I started going to the gym in Oct last year, and am hoping to have surgery ( no date yet) in April. The gym is the bomb....I dont know why I never saw that...
Anyhoo, I'm down almost 30 pounds now, and feel great. I wish I could do more core stuff though, but with an umbilicall hernia ( doc will fix at surgery) I cant.

Good to know the caloric burning info though...thanks!!!

Oh - I love that class. I was so riled up after my first one, I threatened to kick John's ass.

You are doing GREAT - keep it up! I don't know how I would have made it as far as I have without the gym. It is my sanctuary!!
