Default She's back in the gym folks

That is right - it has been over a week since I received my "clearance" for moderate exercise, but 5 days at my moms and 4 days of house prepping made for no gym for Gina - UNTIL NOW!!

Yesterday I was in there. 30 on the eliptical, 30 upper body resistance. I did find out some intersting things though. Do not do the lateral pull-down 4 weeks after having your abs tightened - they don't like it.

Those incisions that go under your arms hurt at the strangest times. You have to put the dumbell down. Yes, I mean now - not two more - now.

Anyway - today I tried running on the treadmill. That lasted less than 30 seconds. Felt like the whole incision across the back was going to just pop. So I did 30 min on the arc and started lower body resistance - but that only lasted 10 minutes. You use your abs for everything, I tell you.

Ah well...at least it is a start. I'll try for 60 on the eliptical tomorrow. I had no pain at all on that. Maybe go for a short spin on my bike...though I'll have to pull the trailer. On second thought...maybe I'll wait until DH returns from his convention.

So everyone get out there this weekend and push a little for me! I won't be going nuts any time soon. With 47 gym rats, that is a lot of push!!

Yeah you!!!

I totally know what you mean about using your abs for everything. I really hurt myself after my first c-section. I agree with Lynda; don't hurt yourself

The first few times back - I felt the funny pulling or funky twinges - but now - 4 months out - NO PROBS at all.

We had a new TKD instructor transferred to my studio last Wed, he looked at my workout card and noticed that I missed a required testing in July . . . I looked at him funny and told him that I must have been out of town. I didn't even remember that I wasn't cleared to workout then! Last night when we wre working out, I told him that I had surgery and that was why I missed the testing - he couldn't believe that I was in such good form!

You too will forget you ever had your tummy tucked@!!
