Default Bad girl, feeling much better

I couldn't help it today - I had to do something, so the whole family went for a little walk. Okay, a mile and a half up a steep hill, but we went nice and slowly. My son got bored and jogged part of it (this is very good) and the dog ran all over the place. But my 3 year old daughter and I just trudged along, nice and slowly and you know what? I feel SOO much better.

I've been feeling like my blood is congealing or something. Just no movement is so hard for me now. (Two years ago, I would not have believed this feeling was possible!) So I'm happy.

I'll keep taking it easy though. All my scars are looking perfect, no separation anywhere. My abs are loosening up enough that I can stand up straight - I'm really feeling good. I'll see my dear surgeon Tuesday, when I hope I'll be cleared for the tread mill by Friday. I have work to do!!

Gina, that is great. Its so hard to not keep up to the regular routine after surgery, but its important to heal and keep moving as you can. You sure found out what works for you and that is great. Keep it up girl, you are not bad!

Gina that is wonderful!! A nice walk always made me feel better. Standing up strait is certainly a wonderful accomplishment! LOL!! Take it easy and remember even though the outside is healing, the inside is doing it much SLOWER! Don't run before you walk a good several weeks!! Glad your getting back your GROOVE!

Gina...Be careful not to overdo but you go, girl!...I can't even imagine the concept of "wanting to exercise" and "not being able to."...My surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday...Take care of yourself and go slow...

You inspire me. Did I mention that? Because of you (and John) I dare to dream that I can really get into exercise.

When you have been exercising...you get used to it, so you don't want to go long without it...or you feel bad...

but try and remember that this period of time in your life is a tiny blip on the timeline...and you need to just chill and recover fully...soon enough you'll be able to be your old workout-fiend -self and you'll feel GREAT because the skin is gone and you'll be able to workout even better....

a walk is always a good place to start...again...

I tell you - you can! The two things that changed me were: doing it every day and finding the greatest supportive gym in the world. (well, in the area at least) Those people are SOOOO awesome!

Also, find what you like and do it. I even have learned to do what I don't enjoy and reward myself with what I do like. I get through the cardio in order to lift the weights. I love to watch my muscles in the mirrors! Yea - ego again...a curse? a blessing? I've yet to decide.

Anyway - I never thought I'd be so into it. And then I discovered the bike - oh - I swear I'm going to need therapy over that. I LOVE to ride. I dream of the day I ride till I can't move at all - its gonna be like sex, I swear. I never thought I'd be like this.

and John is just an animal. He's a machine. I've never even come close to his world - though he's been kicking my a$$ for long enough - you'd think I would have! We'll see.
