Default It is really hard to explain...

>I'm not an exercise nut; I don't know how! But I have gotten into the habit of getting up an hour earlier every morning and going to the gym. I know me- I have to make it part of my get-ready-for-work routine. Sweat is not pouring off me, I'm not puffing hard on the treadmill, I just get in my 30 to 40 minutes.
>What boggles my mind is this: I didn't get there for 2 weeks 'cuz the s**t hit the fan at work, and I was doing some early-in-the-day OT. I missed my workout! That measly 30 to 40 minutes! Amazing! When I got back yesterday and today, I felt better, in some undefined way. I was talking to another woman there, a real gym rat who injured her knee a few weeks ago and had to cut waaaaaaaay back on her workout routine. We both decided we felt more balanced when we get to the gym. We don't necessarily feel stronger, healthier, more alert, or anything else definitive. BUT the air is slightly sweeter, the coffe is somewhat more robust, the sky is a smidge more blue, the traffic is less irksome, patience seems to stretch further.
>Whaddya think? I'm talking about something less tangible that the little muscle that I found in my arm, the new curve to my waist, the flight of stairs taken w/o being winded.

Whaddya think?

You are correct, it's as if exercising puts you on a different plane (or plain?) or something..... I'm not exercising at the moment, but a few years ago when I was going to the gym at least 5 days a week I was totally *there* and felt like crap if I didn't get to go. My hubby is that way all the time - since he's a Marine, exercise is part of his daily routine and has been for 23 years... but if he misses a day or two for some reason, he feels like crap, and in all honesty, is a grouch and a bear to live with!

I am soooooo looking forward to getting back into the groove and getting that high again, and I know at the moment I'm just making excuses... I'm *not* a morning person, but that's the only time I really have to work out - I need to make myself get up earlier to do this.

this is pretty common and something we talk about often. I'm glad you are expeirencing it for yourself. When you know you feel better when you go you tend to go more frequently.

good for you

Default Do I ever hear you

And you said you didn't understand what I was talking about!
Our bodies are meant to move! They work better, feel better and last longer when we use them the way nature intended!!

It cleans up my insides. And after only 10 days sitting on my butt - I feel clogged and gross. Like I said, I'm yelling at the dog, hanging up on telemarketers...I'm just not as balanced.

You got it too!!! hahahaha! Good for you!!

Daily Exercise and our pouches go together.
When we learn to eat properly our bodies change. When we add exercise to this new life it helps our body adjust to our new way of life.
It is part of my life as is my pouch.

Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands.

Had to say it = P Is that from Legally Blond?
