I loved your post . . . it was so descriptive that it made me feel like I was there too. How very cool. Really makes me want a bike now . . . the view is better on a real bike compared to the gym! But that is fun too . . . I don't have to watch where I am going.

A friend gave me a mountain bike for Christmas two years ago. I only rode it once or twice - I was way to big for it, and living in a neighborhood with lot's of inclines (were near the moutains), it damn near did me in. It's been sitting in the garage ever since (but maintained.)

I've been thinking of taking it out and see if there is a difference (I'm sure there will be, but just how much - I don't know.)

Bike ride on the beach, I've not done that in so long!

get on it buddy! You'd be amazed at the difference. You are down a significant amount of weight now. Things you couldn't do right or well a few months ago now will be well within your reach.

btw not to get offtopic or anything here but, WAY TO GO!

Default Way to go..

"Way to go" to all of you re-inspired to get back on those bikes. I was just talking yesterday to my husband about how I couldn't wait til the weather got a little cooler here, and we could get our mountain bikes out of storage, dust them off and hit the trails. We have some wonderful bike paths here that run beside the Trinity River, and an awesome trail called California Crossing that I would love to see if I can do by September. In the past I have only been able to hike it, but I think I am ready to ride it now.

Default Another Gread Ride Today!

Wow, I had another great ride today! The sky was so beautiful today--bright blue with a few puffy white clouds--and then all of a sudden there were 7 huge pelicans flying right infront of me! Amazing! Of course I had my Crystal Lite Slurpee at 7-11 on the ride home, too. You just can't beat that on a sunny summer day!

Anyone else dust off their bikes yet and give it a try? Ummmmm....Baron?

Its so great hearing about your adventure!!!

Next summer...when I've approached my goal...I'd like to get one of those Hello Kitty beach cruisers...have you seen them at JAX bicycles Miss Kitty? I think there's one down by you. They're real expensive...but I should use that as motivator to reach my goal. (I have an old dusty bike in the garage...but maybe I need a new one for the new me!)...plus I can go riding with my daughter like you did...and get her out and exercising ...setting a good example!

Thanks for sharing.

Default Super Cool

When I read your comments about your bike riding adventures, I became excited inside as, biking is one of the activities I am looking forward to. Since moving here to Italy I see so many people riding there bikes, young, elderly, plump, thin, I see them all, all the time telling myself there was no way a bike would hold my weight, but I know that it wont be long and I will have my bike. I live 10 minutes from the beach of the Mediterranean Sea and I live at the base of tall rocky, white marble mountains, in an ancient part of an old Italian city, my bike ride fantasies are numerous and soon to become reality. I have already started by riding bike in the pool where I go for acqua exercise and so I look at it as I am in training, heeheehee. Oh my what will they invent next in the USA, crystal lite slurpee, sounds great, I make my own sort of slurpee here, with crushed ice and a sugar free lemon or grapefruit drink and they are wonderful during the hot sunny afternoon or evenings.
Ciao
Paul

Oh yes! I've seen the pink Hello Kitty bikes at Jax! My hubby got my bike there for me as a gift...He picked out a Tiffany blue one with Hawaiian flowers, a metal basket, and a cute bell! LOL!

Biking in Italy? Now that sounds like a great adventure to me! Wow!
