New running shoes
I'm starting to really get into running but after about 10 or so minutes my knees start bugging me and I think the culprit is my trusty old Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars. I love em but they just don't have enough support for running.
What I need is recommendations as to a good running shoe. What kinda things do I need to be looking for? Thanks in advance

I don't know your feet look but I would recommend New balances or Asics. Great for walking and running. Good luck with the shoe hunting.

Ive always had good luck with the New Balance brand. In fact when my son went thru boot camp, the Air Force issued him some for his running. Dont scrimp - buy a good pair that will take care of your feet.

My husband is in the USMC and he swears by the brand Brooks. Says there really lite like nothing even on your feet. Marines do ALOT of daily running.

Yes, New Balance are the ones to get! I just got home from the gym, walked an hour, and don't have a single ache or pain! They are really comfy! I have 2 pair and I love them! I have Nike and Vans also, but I like the New Balance the best.

This whole process of getting shoes is way more complicated than I thought. Gotta find your arch type and how your shoes tend to wear and what house the moon was in when your cat was conceived. Ok, I made that last part up but it's still more of a pain than I've ever had buying shoes before.
Thanks for the input. I'm gonna hit some stores this weekend or next and pick something. Any good online shoe stores where a person can get a good deal on some running shoes and maybe a couple pairs of shorts (my work out shorts are still XXXL so there is constant worry of something unseemly happening when I'm doing certain exercises)

I wouldn't suggest buying running shoes over the net. You really need to try them on and make sure you have a good fit. Go to a shoe store that knows their stuff and you should get a great pair of New Balance shoes. Good luck.
