Default Yeah!!!

Congrats on joining the Y. I swam laps for 25 minutes tonight and then did the 1 hour aqua aerobics class. You should try it. You can always skip the exercises that hurt your back.

me too i actually love alot of peeps on this board, and i havent met them either, well i have met one of them, but i feel like ive known some of them for ever, thats weird eh?

duckie, so glad you got a gym with a pool, should be good therapy for your back too - maybe less bed exercises would help the healing of your back?

Anyhoo... I researched the YMCAs in the area and I can join the one in the burbs for a few more $$s than the ones here in the city and then use any of them (there are 3). I can try out each one and see which one I like the best. I REALLY REALLY need at pool. My back problems have kept me from doing much exercise. In May I'm having knee surgery and won't be able to do anything but swim. Soooo.. I'm gonna get off my ass and Join the Y! I know. Who cares. lol
Awesome! I agree I think a pool is great to have. I love swimming laps and relaxing after a hard workout. Its also a great place to do cardio as strange as that sounds. I think its awesome you are finding a place better suited for you.

Most people find a gym and after paying they discover its really not what they want so they just quit. You are improvising. good for you.

Duckie-kins...I'm glad you found a nice place with a pool. I love Gold's. I just got back from aquasize an hour ago! I go a few nights a week...and walk on the treadmill the other nights...and grocery shop Friday night! Exciting life! I know you will love the pool! Great exercise and low impact. Love ya hon! xoxo
p.s. I'm so happy about this new man in your life!

Thanks everyone! Elaine. We'll see how long he hangs around. I'm enjoying it while it lasts. lol I am treating him to dinner tomorrow night. (well, actually, it's tonight. It's after midnight here. )
As for the other gym I had joined. I paid a small down payment and then they never charged me again. They told me it's paid off. lol I DID NOT pay the whole thing. I got what I needed out of the other place and don't care cuz It's free now! lol
Carrie.. you know I love ya girl!

Yeah, Duckie! A pool is a marvelous thing! I haven't actually been able to do the water aerobics because the class is at 10:30 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Hello! Many of us work! But that's beside the point, this is about you! I hope you love the Y!

and a sligh hi-jack.... Elaine, girl! Your new avatar is smokin' hot! You go, girl!

Glad to hear you joined the Y. I love it there. There are a couple in my neighborhood(within about 5 miles) that have an indoor and outdoor pool. Though I'll be honest and say I haven't gotten the nerve to hit the water yet.

I went today. I walked 3 miles on the indoor track and it felt great. I then did 15 laps in the pool. I did some "freestyle" and it was bothing my back so I switched to the breast stroke. I figure i'll work myself up to more laps. It was great. I can't wait to go back tomorrow. lol
Oh, then I sat in the whirlpool and steam room.
