Workout Survey....
I'm in the midst of trying different things to see what workout works best for me, and would love some data to compare it to.
You can copy and paste the following questions into a response.
Workout Survey
Do you workout?
When did you start working out consistently?
What is your workout?
How often do you workout?
How long do your workouts last?
How often do you change your routine?
What do you use as motivation to keep working out?
Do you struggle to be consistent, or does it come easily now?
Thanks!

I'm lucky to live in a town that has two rival grocery stores with several locations within a 15 mile radius. It's great that they are open 24/7 too. I go through all the departments and find things I never new exsisted and clearance deals. When it's too cold, like today, I'll head downstairs and get on my treadmill.

Do you workout? Yes
When did you start working out consistently? at about 3 months post op
What is your workout? Walk everyday or treadmill if the weather is crappy. I was going to Curves a few days a week, but just gave that up. Swimming, biking in nice weather. Going to start weights again.
How often do you workout? Everyday I do something.
How long do your workouts last? Depends...20min in minimum
How often do you change your routine? All the time, I get bored easily.
What do you use as motivation to keep working out? fitness and I like the feeling...I miss it if I am travelling or can't get out due to the weather.
Do you struggle to be consistent, or does it come easily now? This is my biggest challenge...keeping consistent, variation, being fun - I have always struggled with keeping consistent, although my attitude has changed about getting out and walking...I really do miss it when I can't. - the others I have to make myself get there, once there I am fine and feel great after.

Do you workout? Oh yea
When did you start working out consistently? Post-op day 4
What is your workout?M, T, TH, F: 5 min cardio, 30 min resistance, upper body one day, lower body next day the 10 min abs and 15-20 min cardio again. W, Sat - 60 min cardio, Sunday - Cardio or off or training.
How often do you workout? 6-7 days a week
How long do your workouts last? Just an hour, maybe hour 10 min
How often do you change your routine? I Change a bit every couple of months, take a week off resistance training or go to some of the classes at my gym for a change
What do you use as motivation to keep working out? Fear of gaining back the weight, goal of running a 10K in April, enjoyment of all my new friends there
Do you struggle to be consistent, or does it come easily now? I don't think about it, I don't evaluate motivation, I just go - auto pilot. Not usually easy, but no struggle either, if that makes any sense.
Working out is what proves to me that I have changed my life forever. I will never go back to the person I was pre-op. My new friends invite me to run and snow shoe and do abs together, not to lunch. Very different.

Thanks guys! Your answers really help. I'm 4 months post op now and still working on being consistent in my exercise. Seeing how everyone else does really helps, especially knowing that there are people out there who don't workout that still reached goal.

I hope this is the sort of reply you wanted?
PS I stopped exercising after my surgery as advised for 6 weeks & then went back gradually & built up to the above.

Do you workout? yes
When did you start working out consistently? last Friday
What is your workout? 30 minutes of cardio plus 30 minutes of weight training three days per week
How often do you workout? at least 5 days per week
How long do your workouts last? 30 minutes to an hour plus the time in the hot tub/sauna!
How often do you change your routine? I've only been at it for a week so I don't know yet.
What do you use as motivation to keep working out? $30 per month comes out of my account to pay for the gym. I don't like wasting money!
Do you struggle to be consistent, or does it come easily now? Right now, it's only been a week so I haven't struggled with consistency. Ask me that question again in a few months!
