Good God, I would have never seen this...you have me figured out!! I would not have even clicked into this Thread!!!! Okay, the L.A. Fitness that is being built by my house isn't open yet and I hate Curves, so what do you want me to do to meet your challenge?

you dont have to join a gym, do you have a dvd player? an exercise dvd, or even some of those programs on tv? i hate to exercise, and have many many exercise tapes/dvds (some even unopened) so i hired a personal trainer to kick my ass, and boy did she do that yesterday i am hurting today, but going back for some more, that is the only way i will do it, i joined a gym with a friend, got a monthly pass for 40 bucks and went once, so i know the only way to go is to book an appt, prepay the person and then i will actually get there, i am hoping once i get a routine down, i wont need her every day but until then i have her booked

until you have a gym close to your house, if you can do it on your own, do so, you have a new puppy now, even take him for a walk or a slow jog, dont hurt yourself, but you can do some exercise, if i can anyone can....we just have to step outside our comfort zone and get into the tone zone.

Default I'm so happy for you!

I'm telling you - exercising post-major weight loss is so different. Wait until you start looking in the mirrors to see your biceps and quads - you get some very sexy looking areas after about 6 weeks. So do it, do it, do it!!

Yes - the challenge could be easy and different for everyone. We could just list our names and goals. For example:

Gina in NY: 6 days this week, arrive at gym 5 min earlier, 20 min on elliptical
Person starting new: 3 days at gym this week, 2 walks in neighborhood
Other person: DVD "chair exercises" 5 times this week.

etc. So each person challenges themself. Then at the end of the week, we get the cyber-standing-ovation from the rest of the group if we acheive our goal. We can change the color of the names to purple or something...

What do you think? Once we get a few folks, we'll start a new thread. (Unless the exercise section has been created at that point...)

Okay, when does the week "officially" start? I will commit to go to stupid Curves 2 times in one week and a walk at home with the dog.

Oh - count me in!! I worked out on Monday. Met with the trainer today for calastentics, ball work, and floor work. Will do cardio tomorrow, and arms and abs, then more cardio. Off Friday, lots of cardio on Saturday and a leg/arm combo sculpt - then off Sunday

my week started tuesday this week, that was my first appt and workout with my trainer, i did today with her, new exercises and tomorrow and friday with her too,

my goals for next week Mon-Fri 2pm each day, i will do my routine as set out by trainer, which includes 45 minutes of weights each day and 25 minutes of cardio each day.

you can start your week anytime cindy, do you still have your "stupid curves" membership...lol

you stated your goals, now you just have to plan the days, post them here and come back here when you followed through so we can cheer you on.

My personal goal RIGHT now.. is to do the stationary bike 5 times a week for 15 minutes.. and it sound crazy wimpy compared to some of the others.. but its just about the only excersize that doesnt make my hip scream.. (did I mention I am the QUEEN of excuses?? )

thats not a whimpy goal, that is a GREAT start and after your surgery when you have lost that activity stopping weight (it took me 60 pounds before i felt like exercise wasnt gonna kill me) then you will be able to do more adventurous goals, but hey biking is great and five times a week is terrific, glad you joined us
