I wanted to pass on and share this info to everyone, outside of those who are unable to make it to the East County Support Groups. Perhaps it can help anyone who needs it.
The following in a excerpt from an article written by my friend Dr. Andy Tutino aka “Dr. Andy” on Chiropractor monthly. For more information about Dr. Andy and his book, The 7 Habits of Healthy Living, you can visit his website;

“ Get real: About staying healthy
You want to be successful in all the important parts of your life, right? And what could be more important than being successful in keeping yourself healthy? So why is it that you sabotage yourself by unhealthy habits? Here’s what I believe you need to do: stop and think. You need to take time every day to stop what you’re doing, stop rushing around, and stop making the same old choices. Then you need to think about your lifestyle, think about your routines, and think about what you put in your body every time you eat or drink or use drugs. (Remember, caffeine and tobacco and the stuff they sell right off the shelf are drugs, too.)
I believe passionately in the idea of stop and think. I talk about it with my patients, I lecture it every week to people who come to hear me from all over the country. And now I’m writing about it so everyone can hear the message at any time. My book is called Stop and Think: The Seven Habits of Healthy Living.
I am going to give you a sample of what I say in my book. I call it “the one scenario.” You’ve never probably heard of it before, even if you use it all the time. What am I talking about?
A patient walks in and I ask him, “what do you have each day?” This is what the patient tells me. “I drink a cup of coffee a day. And… well… I like to drink a soda a day too. Just one. I like to have a hamburger. With French fries. Just one order. Oh, yeah., I like to have a candy bar for dessert. But just one.” Do you see the situation here? Do you notice the “one scenario?” You justify why why it’s okay to have whatever you want. How? Because your having ONE of something. I call it “the justification clause.” What’s the problem here? By the end of the day you have twenty “ones.” Are you truly having one food that is harmful to you? Or is it actually adding up to a lot of food that could cause a big problem?”
So what cha think?
If you have any questions about this topic, please feel free to post them and I can talk to Andy about them and get back to you.

"People will argue with you that getting what you want in life isn’t something you can learn, if you’re destined to be one of the worlds winners as opposed to one of its perpetual whiners, its because you have been born with the right talents and temperament and have a big dose of self-esteem, ambition, and good judgment."
