Default Stuck

Well, I'm 13 weeks out. I'm down 70 pounds since consult. I should be feeling great right? No. I'm frustrated. I'm stuck at 230 and have been for 2 weeks. I'm stuck between a 22 and a 20. I've added more activity to my days, and am going to the gym more. My diet hasn't changed, I'm still eating the same things. I know I could be eating more protein, but as my pouch rejects any type of meat and all protein powders, this is easier said then done.

I know that around this time, some people hit a nice plateau. But knowing all these things isn't helping any. I feel like I'm done, like I did on all those other diets, and that I'm going to start going back in the other direction. I know these are irrational fears, but they're there anyways. Any ideas to help get me out of this slump?

Default Keep the faith

Keep the faith! It'll come off. I know I'm only 3 weeks out, but for almost two of those I hadn't lost anything! I was freaked. But, I've been more active now and keep adding to that. Always increase your activities, either by level, frequency, etc. AND, most importantly, are you doing your measurements!? Even without a change in weight you can loose inches!

Either way, keep up the hard work and remember to be happy. Happiness is a choice and it'll keep you inspired and hopeful! Best of luck, Dori

Jenny,
Try drinking more fluids. It's been really dry here the last few days, and you might be retaining water. Can you do refried beans? Those were my lifesaver for months.

Jenny i get stuck about every 3rd week. I went almost 2 months with losing nothing as far as lbs go. But i lost inches, cuz i suddenly went from a 24 to a 18/20, whilst not losing a single pound. It is very discouraging to not lose any weight. You feel like a failure. I want to see the lbs come off. But now i almost look forward to not losing, cuz i know i will be seeing a smaller size soon. Look at it that way. It helps me. Keep yur chin up, you'll get there.

Ladies you have to stay out of that frame of mind, that this is going to be another failure to lose weight. This isn't like them old diets you have tried this is a lifestyle change. A tool you must learn how to use to adjust to your body. Know that this is part of the process and that there will be times when the weight loss will just stop and then pick back up again. Jenny you have to remind your self would you have lost 70 pounds in 13 weeks by yourself without this tool? Could you limit what you eat now before your surgery? I think some people get this image of a way-out-there goal that they might not reach in the time they think they should have. Thank God for the weight you have lost. Each pound I lose I Thank God for and pray it never comes back. The body needs time to adjust to all this weight you are losing. If you are drinking all your fluids, getting all your protein in, taking all your vitamins and exercising the tool will work for you. It may not work when you want it to but it will work if you work it. Jenny you are on a good weight loss, don't get discourage. Jenny did you check out the Profect in the vial. Goes down smooth and it isn't even nasty . It is expensive but it has help me get at least 125 grams of protein in a day. I drink 3(75grams of protein) of them and my meals high in protein. That has been getting me through. I was having troubles getting in all that protein too, it makes it so easy for me mainly because I am on the go all the time. I slip 2 in my bag and I am off. You will do just fine Jenny, stay focused.

I know it sucks that you got stuck, but just think, would you have lost 70 pounds in 13 weeks on your own? It will come off, just give it time and get off the scale. I'm crying over here because I've only lost 66 pounds in 7 months! But, at least I am feeling better and possibly losing slower may help me maintain it better in the end.

Increase your caloric intake for three days and trick your body out of starvation mode. Then go back to the basics and you should drop. I am sure it will work.

I don't think I've been drinking as much as I used to. I've been putting more emphasis on eating, so I haven't had very much to drink. It's not as easy as I had thought it would be. I'll see what I can do to up my calories, and look into that protein you suggested Denise. Do you still have the link to it?
