Talking 6 month post op appt

Today I have my 6 month post op appointment at 1:00. I am getting this holiday weekend started early! I am VERY excited! I cant wait to see my lab results and make sure I am on track nutritionally!

Do you guys know if you meet with Kelly or Dr. C?

I have alot of questions to ask about protein intake, hanging skin vs. hanging fat and some other stuff Im too embarassed to post but will share with y'all when I see ya.

Can you guys believe how quickly time has passed? It's just amazing, but for the first time in my life, a great amount of time has passed and I feel like I have actually accomplished something. Registered for school, de cluttered my house, made new friends, went on my first vacation ever, reconnected with my estranged father, oh yeah and lost 100 freakin' pounds! I truly feel blessed!

Yesterday I was driving and thinking back to a time when every time I was afforded the opprotunity to make a wish.. on a falling star, blowing on a dandelion, blowing out birthday candles...... I would wish that I could just lose some weight... I would wish to lose just 50 pounds... close my eyes as hard as I could and bloooowwwwwwww...... and it is so surreal because ever since I can remember, ever since I was a small child this was my one wish that I wanted so bad and now it is coming true.... I feel so lucky and fortunate to have this happen to me, and Im sure many of you can relate to this story as well. I sit here with tears welled up in my eyes because I finally got a wish, and whats more amazing is that I have met so many wonderful people (YOU) along the way... I just dont think there is anyone on earth more lucky than we are..... I just wanted to let you guys know how much I appreciate you and all of your support throughout these past 6 months... you are all amazing! Thank you, for just being you, the best friends a girl could ask for! In a few short hours I'll be off to see the Wizard... there's no place like home. I love you guys! XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO

Default Bridget,

You got me crying with you. I know how you feel about the emotions you go through about losing weight, or shall I say wanting it sooooooooooo bad and it being ever elusive. I'm still skeptical, because I'm new, but am feeling stronger about it being real. I now understand when you all say, your brain doesn't have time to adjust to the body transformation.

I wish you all good things today at your 6 month check up! You'll do just fine! Whatever the outcome, you're still an inspiration to many!

Smile Okay, this is what happened

I saw Kelley, my labs were not back yet so I need to follow up with her shortly to find out how those are looking. She is ordering a B1/ Thiamin test to make sure I am not malnourished... remember by leg numbness n stuff... that can be a sign of malnourishment. I asked the question about protein to the almighty Dr. C last night, and he said that there is no scientific studies showing that the more protein you intake will increase your weight loss. He states that 30-50 grams is enough and that we absorb what we intake just fine. Kelley stated on friday and Dr. C concurred last night that my weight loss is pretty much going to slow/stop any day now. The stated that my collar bones are protuding and this is one way of telling that the weight loss is going to slow down. I am okay with that, I feel great. But I figure I eat like a bird, I exercise (not as often as I should) and I still continue to lose about 2 pounds a week, sometimes more... I have not had a plateau yet, so I figure losing another 20 pounds isnt unrealistic at this point... it just make take a little more work... okay a little more exercising Right now I am a size 12 I want to be a 10... shoot I WILL be a 10, but the thought of being a 8 is not unrealistic either in my opinion. We'll see, only time will tell... one day at a time baby! We also talked about hanging skin... the nasty stuff... i have it. I thought the stuff hanging out around my belly was still fatty, I was told that it CAN feel fatty but its not.... it's skin. And boy let me tell you I have alot of it! This is the way I look at it, hanging skin keeps you humble... and your shirt on! lol Although I have to admit, I am looking into surgery for removal at this point.
So there's the long and short of it, thats how my 6 month post op appt went. Any questions or comments, please feel free to ask. Love your friend~ Bridge
