Great article! I am still pre-op, and while my mind is made up, knowing what I am in for freaks me out a little bit!

Don't be freaked out. I wish I had read this article before I had surgery. I know in another month or so I will be looking back and knowing it was the right thing. I know now it was the right thing but I am having some issues and it will take a little bit of time. You are young1 I am 60. But I will read and re-read this article a lot to help me thru the rough days! The surgery was actually a breeze, it is what comes after that is hard. Although I think I have kicked my lifetime sugar addiction which is a great thing!

Thanks for posting this! It was helpful for me to read right about now. I had such a long wait to have the surgery, all I did was count down to the actual surgery date. So now it feels difficult to wait out the next few months (even the next week of liquids for that matter!).

I know I just need to be patient. I think it will be easier when I go back to work next week. Though my nanny gave me notice today that she will be leaving in June, so maybe figuring out her replacement will give me something to focus on!

This article came at a perfect time for me. i have to take gas x everytime I eat or drink a protein shake. I am disappointed in my weight loss for the first month and I don't feel well physically. I get these spells where i get really weak and shaky and feel like I am going to faint. Primary and endocronologist said it is not my diabetes or anything else they can find. Seeing the surgeon tomorrow so I needed to read about someone else out there who is not a poster child. difficult to read about people losing 30-40 pounds the first month. Going back to work will be very good for you. I am retired so my whole life seems to revolve around the surgery and my eating plan, one small turkey meatball for dinner. haha The nanny thing will work itself out i am sure. You don't have that much to lose compared to most. lucky you. Just keep looking forward

I know it isn't going to be easy. I know that I am going to have foods that don't go down. I know that things may go very wrong. But I have been dieting for the last 7 months. The food we are allowed isn't that much different than what I have been eating all these months.

I am not afraid. I am going to do my best. And when I am done, I don't want to have diabetes or high blood pressure or high cholesterol. I want to be healthy. I don't have wild expectations.
