Default one negative from surgery

not sure where to post this, but since it is probably emotional support I need...the ONLY negative I have had since surgery is I am now a 34 B (for these deflated balloons, I no longer think I can call them breasts), finding bra's is so hard. The excess skin hangs over the sides and it is not pretty...I guess I need to learn to just live with it. My 19year old looked at me the other day and said gosh mom you have no boobies now...

I shouldn't complain, I have had an easy journey, I decided to have surgery, went to a seminar, made an appointment with the surgeon the next week, saw the dietician and the psych all in the same week, had labs, ultrasounds and a few other tests, went away on vacation and was approved for surgery while gone, surgery was scheduled about 2 weeks later (the whole process was about 4-6 weeks). I went back to work 1 week after surgery without any problems, I, have had no complications and am doing great. I am about 5-10 pounds from goal. I am 5'5" and started at about 298, I am now 154 with probably about 15-20 pounds of that being skin. I am wearing a size 10 and a medium shirt OVER MY 34B bra. Oh well, just wanted to complain a bit, don't blast me, I know I am blessed.

I have been worried about this. If you do a search you will find a thread about a miracle bra from Victoria Secret that many of the posters here are wearing. It makes you look a full cup bigger. I plan on getting one when I get closer to goal. Anything to make the girls look perky

I'm 5'5" too. Started with a 44-46DD and I'm now down to a 30B. Not the easiest of sizes to find.

And what I do have is nothing more than skin anyway so finding a bra that accommodates skin rather than breast tissue is difficult.

I've had better success with sports bras. The ones with formed cups are better than the ones that just squish you.

Have you been fitted yet? I went to Vickie's and decided to be fit, after finding the right size I found bras looked alot better on me. I had been wearing the wrong size for a couple of years!! Wireless looks better for sure, if I get for one with an under wire I have to go up a size from 36 to 38.

My cup size stayed the same, either that or I was wearing bras too small even pre op!

Miracle bra actually gives you a lift, cleavage and enhances TWO cup sizes. It's $50 and well worth the investment. Otherwise Wonderbra is around $25, and gives you a one size increase.

It can be intimidating to have your measurements done at a lingerie shop, the woman are very nice and make you comfortable and they measure over your clothes. Finding the right bra is priceless!

The thread that is referenced is a post orig. started by jerseygrl () titled something like 'letting you all in on a secret' or some such.

I couldn't deal with the enormous boobage that the miracle bra gave me, as I mentioned in that thread, but the dream angels push up was a perfect one for me.

I'd highly suggest that you go in and get fitted, trying the various sizes. As Bridget mentions, wire vs underwire can even make a difference in what size you might need.

As for the skin overhand on the sides.. a good spanx type camisole does wonderful things in that area.

Yes, boobs and chin are the first to go....still waiting on my thighs!
I have used a sports bra for the past year after not having a comfortable fit for years and my gosh it is comfy and surprisingly, I am still wearing the 48DD I wore five months ago at 303 pounds.
They seem to stretch and conform to me and not the other way around.
If you are in the weight loss phase I highly recommend them.
And if my boobs get any droopier, I will need to belt them instead of bra them!
