Default Surgery day is in the past

Well I haven't been here since 10/28 because my surgery date was 11/3 and I was madly trying to tie up loose ends at home and in my business so I could, with a clear mind, take a little down time after surgery.

My clear liquid day on Monday went pretty good, although I had a *major* migraine by the evening which didn't go away until they hit me with the general and then it was instant relief and total oblivion for a couple hours.

I have the lap band so I went in at 5:45 am and was discharged at 2 a.m...ahead of their usual schedule but pretty typical for me. I went home with pain meds but never had reason to take them. I did take some liquid tylenol for the sore muscles in my neck and back the day after surgery but I ended up going back to work and just moving around made me feel better. Yes, I did take it easy.

Day 2 (Wednesday) after surgery and I overdid it. I know better today. I'm healing well. Haven't had anything but liquids since Sunday night but no hunger and I feel great! Best of all, my blood sugar has dropped 100 points since Sunday!

Congrats, Aomiel! Good to see those blood sugar numbers fall, isn't it?

congrats, but man...don't know how you have managed to get back to work/life routine so quickly! I just about fell to pieces when I returned 5 days after!

But, I really am so glad you're seeing positive results with your bloodwork so far!

It absolutely is! I just took my evening reading and it's 151! Woohoo! It's even more exciting than watching the scales drop!

To be honest I've always been a rapid healer...good genetics.

I had a c-section 17 years ago and 8 hours after they sewed me up, I was walking down the hall, pushing my IV stand, on my way to the nursery. The doc had to fudge his notes in order to get me the usual 3 day hospital stay (since the baby wasn't going to be discharged before that time and I didn't want to go home without him) because if he had written the truth, they would've shipped me out that day.

Three weeks later, I was back in front of the classroom teaching.

I was hoping this surgery would be equally as easy even though I'm almost 20 years older (and not in as good shape as I was previously).
