Default Why aren't I losing?

Okay, it's been awhile and maybe I'm just feeling overwhelmed or even daresay slightly depressed. I am not losing any weight this month..I mean nothing. It's only been three months since the surgery. I know everyone's weight loss is different but I am becoming anxious and starting to eat and nibble. I have always been an emotional eater but it's like the reality is starting to hit..what if this is as good as it gets..what if I don't lose any more weight..was the surgery in vain?
I have been making sure I eat all the right foods, proper portions and sometimes I'm still really hungry. I walk up the four flights at school instead of using the elevator pass. I have been sweating to wii fit and really trying.
Has this happened to any of you? Is it just a phase and should I put it on the back burner?
I have an appt in two weeks and although I got my first fill 6 weeks ago is it time for another? more?
All thoughts, ideas and suggestions are welcome.

I think you got the Lap Band, right? You're talking about a fill.

Anyway, I had the gastric bypass, so I'm not sure what the differences are except that I've heard that you lose slower with the Lap Band. That being said, I'm pretty sure you're just on a plateau. Those can be very hard. Heck, even with gastric bypass, I'm only a little over three weeks out and I've already hit a little bit of a plateau. I haven't lost in a little over a week and a couple of days ago I actually GAINED two pounds! LOL

Try not to sweat it. Just keep doing what you're doing and your body will start to play along. And maybe it IS time for another fill. Just go to your appointment and see what they say.

I hope this helps. At least a little.

Step away from the food.

Rationally, you know you're moving more, eating less (and better) and eventually the weight will have to come off. If you 'eat and nibble' the wrong things, you're just sabotaging yourself.

Take each day as it comes. Don't look ahead. Just tell yourself, "I can get through today". Before you know it, two weeks will have passed and you can get your doctor to give you a fill if you're still struggling with hunger.

Something else to consider though. For years I would tell people that I do not exercise strenuously when dieting because all it did was make me hungry and want to eat. They laughed at me and said that 'research' shows that exercise creates all sorts of chemicals in your brain that stave off hunger. Well, I was ROFLMAO at a new research report that came out recently that said exactly what I had discovered on my own.

It doesn't mean I sit on my butt...it just means that I don't go all cardio and 'target heart rate'. I just 'move'. I don't plop my butt in front of a tv all evening. I take the stairs instead of the elevator. I park further out in the parking lot. I get up to get my own glass of water instead of using my son as a 'go-fer'. Oh and yeah...we have a wii fit but I keep it notched down to where I'm having fun and moving, but not going for the 'no pain, no gain' mentality.

Hang in there. This too shall pass.

When you say you haven't lost anything this month, you mean in November? And you wrote this on the 4th, so you mean you didn't lose anything for four day? I would not worry about that all! You are going to have short periods when you don't lose. It's normal.

Now, when you say you're starting to nibble, do you mean you're nibbling little bits here and thre throughout the day? Like grazing? Because I think that's a behavior you may need to change. And I don't think getting another fill will help with that. The fill will limit how much you can eat at one time, but if you're only nibbling here and there throughout the day, the fill won't prevent that.
