Unhappy All the sudden very anxious

Hi Ladies,
My surgery is in.... 4 1/2 days...November 2nd.

I think I'm ready but I had my appt w/ the nutritionist today and all the sudden I'm very anxious. I have a freezer full of pureed foods, stack of protein samples (to see what I like) and the house is mostly clean. Will this really work for me? aack! What if it doesn't? DH is concerned I'll love him less if I'm a "skinny chick" married to a "fat guy" bu the is my soul mate so I'm not worried at all.... unless he won't love me thinner?

Am I going crazy?

Well, I am new to this process but I would venture to guess that these are normal feelings. People, especially women, are always apprehensive about changes. It is always hard to leave our comfort zone and what we have always known/done and embark on a new adventure. This is truly a life change, not a diet, not a simple fix but an entire change. It would be more strange if you did not have reservations about it. Only you can know if this is the best thing for you to do but if your doctors didn't think it was for you you never would have gotten this far. Hang in there and remember it is normal to feel anxious and scared before any surgery!

I was expecting a call in a week or two to set a surgery date maybe by the end of November............I got a call today and surgery is November 4! I'm excited, all of a sudden overwhelmed, scared, anxious, oh boy!!

I am sure you will do great, I am excited for both of us!! My hubby isn't a heavy guy but he is worried too!

Krista, you will be fine. What you`re feeling is normal. Just focus on your reasons for making the decision to have the surgery. Good luck and keep us posted of your progress.

Krista

This is normal. I had surgery in September and about a week before surgery I had a break down. I was anxious, nervous, all the "what ifs" went through my head, etc.

I am sure you will come through this with flying colors and eventually will wonder why you were so anxious.

As far as your husband goes get him involved and get him on board with your new habits.

You and I share a surgery data Krista, and I have certainly had my moments of questioning. I have 20 years on you too. Believe me in any major major issue in my life especially those where I have had to make a decision I have some times that grip me with fear and anxiety. I know that for me and likely for you this is the best step to take, it is not easy and it will be a challenge but you will be glad I know. Take care and lets both get this done and recover ! Diann
