Angry Staying on someone's butt to get the work done

So I called the Surgeons office and the girl who is working on my file is at lunch. I was told they are still waiting on the psych eval from Trueresults. I called Trueresults and asked them to re-fax that file please. The girl who took the message said she would have whoever sent it over to resend.

Now I don't know if they got the information from my PCP or not. What really bothers the crap out of me is that trueresults had all this informtion and submitted everything to the insurance company already. After I told them I changed my mind about what procedure I wanted they said they would fax everything over to my surgeon.

As you can see, they clearly have done no such thing. It just pisses me off. I am giving them till the end of today, and if they have not finished getting the information to my surgeons office, tomorrow I am going to sashay my butt on over there and ask them for a copy of my medical file. I am not going to take no for an answer. I have been waiting for a month for them to get their crap together and send it over. Now when I was having the procedure they wanted me to, they acted very quickly to submit to the insurance company. I am infuriated!

I had to stay on my 1st doc's office to get everything submitted to the 2nd doc's office. The day I almost lost it was when the new doc's office called me and said I didn't have a 6 month diet and I would need that. WHAT?! That was not needed through my insurance. The girl proceeded to argue with me, but then she found out that she had me mixed up with another patient AND they had 2 folders going with my name on them showing my prerequsites.

Stay vigilant with them.

I too had to stay on top of my drs office. I designated myself as point person/ liason between my surgeons office, my PCP, and Insurance Company. It took some time to get them all on the same page, but once they were, I felt like I had done my job.

Stay on them, and call every day if you have to. I made it a point that if I didn't have at least some type of an answer, I would call one doctor each day until I got answers... It worked out. :-)

Same here.

I lost at least a month (maybe more) being trusting and patient with my insurance/surgeon. If there ever was a good reason to be the "squeaky wheel," this is it. If I had inserted myself into the process much sooner I could have saved myself a LOT of stress.

Thanks for all the support guys. After two days of running from my surgeons office to my pcp I finally got everything taken care of. I got a letter from my surgeons office today telling me that the information has been submitted to the insurance company and that it could take 2-6 weeks to hear back. Now I have heard that Aetna is pretty quick at getting back so I hope to actually know by next week. I want to get excited but I won't allow myself until I get an approval and a date. This part of the journey is not fun. I just have to say that. Thanks for listening/reading.

CKJ your date is just around the corner. Have you done your pre-op diet yet? What's that been like?
