No, you didn't say anyone was starving. I did not use the word starving, either. The OP said she was really hungry and you said that was a way of life post-op. I said it was not a way of life for me. That's what it came from.

Again Kelly she said she was "head hungry". That is where my answer came from.

I have both head hunger and 'real life' actual hunger almost constantly.

My stomach gnarling hunger returns within an hour- hour 1/2 after eating and does not go away until I eat again.

I only allow eating 4 meals a day otherwise, I'd be eating all day long and 317 lbs again.. and before someone says it's the yogurt, no that is not true, as I've tested that theory. It is the same with other foods as well.

Just because there are some people that never get hungry again does not meal ALL people are the same. Though it is more often found that hunger doesn't return for a good four to six months post op for RNY there are those that it returns sooner, and some- Corrine for instance- who don't seem to get a return of their hunger. From what I understand, with the sleeve the sensation of hunger is even less likely to return because the portion of the stomach where the gherlin (hunger causing hormone) is made in our bodies is completely removed.

As in everything else in this universe, there is no one size fits all.

I get hungry hungry when I see myself filling up or eating useless carbs/non-protein stuff... which could be the issue too. Right now, once I get better ill be eating 3x a day with 2 snacks... sooo that is a lot from what I eat now which is barely anything and for the first time last night, I was starved. I hadnt eaten in about 48 hrs at that point.

poet- how do you NOT going around being hungry? are you just never hungry? do you constantly have yourself on an eating schedule? I mean how do you know when you neee to eat food then?

From day one, I have never had any sensation of hunger.

All I can do is eat by the clock and make it small and often (around 6x a day).

The way this was posted I see where poet_kelly felt the need to post that this ISN'T the "normal" life for post-oppers. It came off as saying that this is the way it will be from now on.

I'm not "poking sticks" at anyone...but it IS the way I took it too.

At the two week stage sugar free pop were awesome and sf jello.

Hang in there!

Thank you. I know it sucks so bad, but good things are to come. I licked some oatmeal today..lol! I hope I dont get in trouble with my surgeon.

licked oatmeal? huh?? how was that? lol- I guess it stuck to your tongue and you got some then..no?

I feel for you- but by next week or the week after you will soooo much better

All I can say- when you feel like this- go out for a walk- get your mind off eating....and stay away from the evil carbs at first

good luck
