Default Starting to flip out before surgery

Well... the reality of surgery is finally starting to sink in...
I am thrilled one day and petrified the next... can I really make the changes?
Today a friend brought me protein drinks and powders and other items... All almost made me gag....
Now I am really starting to flip out... Wondering if this is the right decision...

I am curious if anyone else did this and how they got through it?

I think everybody goes through this. But I assume you've done your research, right? Decided this really is what's best for you? Do you feel like it's your last chance? 'Cause if you think you haven't tried dieting and exercising enough, then by all means, give that a whirl. But I'm guessing you've tried that and it didn't work for you.

At this point, you need to stay focused on your goal. Or goals. Make a list of all the reasons you want to have surgery. And keep it handy. It will help to read it from time to time.

Lots of protein drinks taste bad. Don't give up. Try some others. And try different ways of fixing them. You'll find something you can at least tolerate.

We all go through such a range of emotions. It's perfectly normal. Just do everything you can to keep your mind busy...that's all you can do. I was a mess before my surgery...one minute crying the next minute angry at myself for having to do it. But what kept me on track the most was looking in the mirror and being disgusted at what I saw and saying to myself "this is why you're doing this."

Waiting is the worst because there's too much time to think. But it'll be here before you know it and this will all be a distant memory.

Hang it there.
