Default Bored with food choices

Hello everyone- I am almost 2 months post up and am becoming completely bored with my food. I have tried a few things here and there but mainly it is Chili, yogurt, chili, yogurt, chili and the occasional cheese and protein drink....but mostly chili and yogurt. I am almost afraid to try other things since those go down so well and with no problems. I have tried bites of chicken but I have to remember to eat sooo slow or I don't feel well. The other night I tried an artichoke at a restaurant it was fine for a minute but by the time we were done I was sick. Yikes. Got sick and felt better instantly. I think I ate too fast. Anyhootie, all this rambling to say anyone have suggestions? I have such a long commute home at night all I want to do is spend some time with my baby..by the time she is in bed it's 8 pm and I do not want to cook. Any quicks ideas would be so appreciated! Thanks everyone.

Check out the recipe forum here on TT. I have found lots of good things I like to cook here. One really good recipe I can recommend is Sherry's White Chicken Chili. I haven't had it for a while and it's time to make it again! It makes a big pot so you can freeze some for another day.

I make a lot of soups, too. Not that hard to make and then I have leftovers for lunch the next couple days.

I know trying new things can be scary. But, if you're bored with what you're eating now, there is nothing else for it but to try something new, right?

Kel, have you posted the recipe for the squash and white bean soup on TT? 'Cause I would like to try it.

Are you hungry or just bored with what you're eating?
I think it makes a difference....

Default Hi

Just bored...matter of fact it is hard to eat sometimes. I eat because I know I have to. Definitely not hungry most of the time.

I run my own business and I learned long ago that at the end of a long day, the last thing I want to do is cook. Same for my husband.

So what I do is spend one day, about every 3-4 weeks, and cook up a bunch of things that freeze well. I have one of those vacuum freezer thingies so I divide the food up in 3 serving pouches (since there are 3 of us). Each evening I decided what I want for dinner the next night and take it out of the freezer. By the time I get home the next night, it's partially thawed and easy to nuke or heat in the oven. No muss, no fuss.

When I feel like cooking at the end of an evening, I'll cook a double batch and freeze half of it. Do this on a regular basis and pretty soon you'll have a nice selection to choose from.
