Yeah, but at least it takes away that desperate "forever" thought away.

Thanks so much for your input.

I really miss that 40 cal light bread, toasted with Brommel and Brown yogurt butter. Mmmmm. Wow I think I just got my first post surgery craving... not that I'm hungry. I'm too full of slimey snot and raspberry popscile. LOL! But if they sold that butter here, shoot, I wouldve definitey had like 3 pieces of toast for my last meal lol.

I am one of those horrible, wicked, weak-willed persons that went through the last supper syndrome...

While I've been a slow/low loser...it's more likely my age/metabolism rather than my last week of eating everything I could think of before I started my pre-surgery two-week liquid protein diet.

I never cheated on my liquid protein diet.... and now, while I'm struggling to lose the last 25 pounds to reach goal, have been actually pretty good about eating only healthy things, etc.

As a food addict, I am very concious of my problems with food... I know that I can't have just a little bread, or a few crackers, etc.... I can live quite nicely without crackers, chips, bread, etc. Good for all those that can eat all those things in moderation....I'm NOT one of them.

So for me, the 'last supper syndrome' had no outcome on how my eating has been post-surgery....

I am only on my 2nd month of my 6 month PCP visits, however, I just had the last supper conversation with my husband about McDonalds. When we go there, I always get the kids cheeseburger happy meal! He said maybe I could have a bite of it? after I have the RNY? Then today at school (I am a 4th grade teacher) it was one of our student's bdays and he passed out doughnuts for his treat. I used to be really good and give it away to another student in my class, but today I scarfed it down just thinking that I will never be able to eat a doughnut again if I have this surgery! What is wrong with me? Next week we are planning a luncheon for boss's day! It will be food city! I think the only way for me to stop all the eating is by having the surgery! Did I mention that every Thursday is Luigi's day! Awesome Italian resturant in town that we order Chicken Salads for lunch-you know the kind with french fries and cheese and house dressing, comes with a piece of thick white Italian bread with a little butter packet! Had mine today right along with that donught for morning snack!

Well, you can have a bite of a cheeseburger after your surgery. Actually, you could take the burger off the bun and eat the whole thing (if you can eat that much) and it would be OK. Just don't eat the fries.

Oh its very normal. I went to every last restaurant I could think of that I liked and savored the moment. I didn't want to feel like there was anything that I missed out on. It was risky to do because I did gain weight after having lost weight in prep for the op but I was having Insurance issues and the process was so long and drawn out so the doctor didn't harass me about the weight gain. I wouldn't encourage anyone to do as I did but I completely understand the feeling. May one last supper with all your favorite things but in tiny amounts. After that wash your hands off of the food and focus on getting healthy along with the rest of your family/ or whoever you share meals with. ( I would not be able to lose if we were all eating as we used to. Everyone's diet is different).

Here's my suggestion for the safest way to do all of this. You're still in your 6 month insurance diet... mon-sat eat like you need to eat to lose weight. On Sunday allow yourself to have 2000 calories. If done correctly, that's enough for a couple treats. 4 months x 4 weeks x 2 treats a week = 32 times you are allowed to choose something delicious and sinful and ENJOY it but still stick to what you're supposed to be doing. After that 6 months you will only have about a month before your surgery probably and in that last month you need to be as perfect as you can be to be sure your liver is healthy enough to do well with the surgery.

This is coming from experience by the way I lost 80 lbs with this method. An angel Mon - Sat and then let myself be a bit free on Sunday (having a candybar (instead of a yogurt) or a frozen pizza (instead of veg/meat/rice).. not on top of my planned meals, but planned in there ya know?)

Yep...I intend to have the last supper at Carabbas since I understand, from other lap band patients, that pasta is really difficult to eat after the surgery.

I'm not going to worry about it too much. My husband and I have a habit of sharing meals when we eat out so I'm only going to get half of it anyway.
