Default My 'head hunger' diversion plan

OK, I'm just a few weeks away from my surgery later this month, and I want to make sure I can succeed in this. There's just too much at stake to fail.

To help with my head hunger later, I plan to acknowledge it, then tackle some household or work project that takes at least 15 minutes. If it is still there, I'll repeat the process. Then once more. I figure all that ought to distract me long enough to get to the next healthy "meal," after I get past the early liquid and soft food stages.

And maybe my house will be cleaner!

I tried something similar. But if it really won't go away after 20-30 minutes, I'll have a SF popsicle. Luckily, though, it's rare that I have to do something like that, since I've been battling a bit of nausea when I think about eating some of the things I used to. Or better yet, I just watch my husband shovel down food and smack his lips and generally gross me out. Then I'm not head-hungry. At all. Know anyone like that? That might help, too.

Oh, I've got to remember those popsicles. That's a great idea!

I'm so happy for you that you have a plan and you know it's going to happen, that's the biggest part of the battle. I go try on clothes that I haven't fit into for years (I know, it's pathetic that they are still in the closet) when they fit it motivates me and I have a glass of crystal light instead of whatever else I think I wanted and I feel great about it.
You are going to do great!

Hippiewoman, I have a closet full of the same kind of clothing .. and the good news is, in a couple of months, even the smallest of them should fit. I have organized them in my closet again and again, imagining wearing them... and by spring, I'll have to come up with other clothing!

Wow. Just wow.

I organized my closet with all of my old smaller clothes into piles, and I'm slowly but surely working my way through them! It's a wonderful feeling!
