It's just one of 'those things' that people need to learn the hard way, I suppose.

I keep telling my daughter (who, btw- looks EXACTLY like I did at that age- shockingly so, even) that she needs to be careful that she doesn't end up as heavy as I was. She lives on carbs: potatoes, cereal, bagels, pizza, cereal, and yep.. her favorite? Fettuccine Alfredo *sigh*

At least she's far more physically active than I was at that point so she has that in her favor, but I'm worried it'll catch up to her.

HIHI-try straining the soup or run it through a blender/magic bullet. I was on clear liquids only week one and "full" meaning like milk liquids week 2. You may be coming in a little early, but if you blender it, you should be okay. Just make sure NO chunks or bits. And just sip. You need to learn early on about facing awkward food challenges and how you are going to choose to respond to them. Good luck.

I am going to the grocery store today- I took my fiance to work this morning -we only have one car right now- that way I can go to the store and buy the stuff for the soup and buy some protein drinks to start on today-I mean the only protein im getting is in the broth so I think I need some protein. It was funny yesterday- Allen-my fiance came home and by that time I was really sick and tired of jello and being hungry- he came home and ate a jello on purpose and it made me giggle- he was like what? I just shook my head- then he finished it off with a candybar! Don't worry he doesn't always eat like that- but bless his heart-when we have children they better have his metabolism gosh darnit! We have the opposite problem-he has a tough time maintaining his weight and needs to gain like 20 pounds. And I have too much hair and he is going bald-I tell him one day we will be able to have a tube attached from my tummy to his and my hair to his and just even the heck out!
Lol, the visual on the tubes attached from your stomach and hair to one another cracked me up!!! It sounds like he is a good support for you and that's great!

My opinion is if you are willing to lower the fat content of the soup and strain the soup before eating, then I don't think a little cream soup would be a bad idea. BUT, that's my opinion, so it's ultimatley your decision on what you decide. An important part of this journey is learning to make the choices in the difficult times (like parties). You are in charge and you know what is best for you.

Whatever choice you make, tomorrow is a new day! I just got this advice in another thread and I'm trying to keep it in my own head now! Have fun with your family tonight!!

I make tons of soups!! there are ways to make them where they are ok with you...

but hmm..I dont remember now are you post or pre? ... well if your post you can have cream of tomato , cream of mushroom, sweet potato and pancetta these are all cream bases..use light cream of course but they have protein and pancetta is a meat so again it has protein...

good luck
