Also they really made me feel like nothing was wrong with me and that I was just lazy or something, He just kept saying how young I was.he even got my heart to the rate it was supposed to be and told me to keep going if I could? Why? I mean are you getting a kick out of this or something? Another guy came in and was running beside me saying I feel your pain, no really you can't sir b/c a)I am on a treadmill that simulates me running up hill b) you are not morbidly obese c) I am already humiliated for having to run w/o a bra and just a hospital robe in a room full of normal weight people.
..I really hate to complain, I may though just b/c I would hate for anyone else to go through that & YES...I do think I am going to go back when I am in the area about a year from now and show off my success
Oh my god.. You NEED to complain.. that kind of behavior cannot go unchallenged. You will need to write a letter to their manager, the head of the cardiatrics, the hospital, your surgeon and your state licensing board. That is BEYOND profession. One letter wills suffice but you need to make sure they all get copies.

And also? The no bra thing? Ridiculous! I was allowed to wear my bra with mine.. and my weight was such that they could not get a good read on mine and had to be hooked up to an IV and they just pushed the bra out of the way when they were doing the ultrasound portion of the test.

I'm so sorry you suffered at the hands of those bullies. And yes, they are bullies.

I bet that guy had a small penis. lol

I have to say I am in shock at the way you were treated! I am not able to shut my mouth yet! You absolutely have to report them. Start with your bariatric surgeon. You also need to complain to the manager of the department, head of cardiology and president of the hospital. That is a disgrace! I am so furious for you! I work in a hospital ER and I am shocked and I have seen employees at their very worst and have never seen anyone treated that badly! Holy Crap!

Like Lynda said...keep your eye on the prize! It is all worth it in the end.

So sorry you went thru this.

Terrible! The older I get, the less patience I have with smug, rude people. I at a seminar recently and there were three young ladies eating donuts. They were volunteers and had been there since 6am. One of them was overweight. A guy behind me made a comment. Can you guess where this is going? His comment was something like, "like she needs a donut!" to which they all laughed.

I turned around and informed him that she may be heavy as am I, but I would rather be fat than ignorant! He shut up.

Don't let this go. Write a letter. It takes people like us to set the thin world straight.

Default Hater's are Motivator's

Some people are just ignorant. And for them, we pray! A year from now, you will be healthly, happy, and proud of your accomplishments. Through out this journey, there will be times which are tough. Think back to these idiots and use there lack of personality to motivate yourself. Stay focused and don't loose sight of your goals. This is by far the best decision I've ever made to improve my overall health. In addition, you owe it to yourself to complain. No one else should be made to feel this way. Good luck to you!

Hi I am a nurse and it makes me sick when I hear things like this. Patients are the reason we are here and our responsibility is to provide care, physically, mentally, and spiritually. If you chose to work in health care, you have an obligation to be responsible and accountable. I am sorry that this behavior had to happen to you or to anyone. Thanks
