Been a while...
It has been a while since I have posted here and wondering if I was wrong in stopping because I feel like I am on a downward spiral out of control right now.
As I posted in another thread I am still losing my hair quite badly and taking everything that the doctors and others recommend. So no clue there...But my nails are looking great on a plus side...haha!
I am eating junk, absolute junk. Getting sick from it and not learning my lesson because the next day I am doing it again. Last night for example I had the munchies before bed, so I grabbed some crackers, well those 2 crackers I planned on eating ended up being half the freaking pack and I was sick for about 2 hours wanting to throw up but couldn't.
I am barely exercising at all. I start a routine and then BAM something happens medically or emotionally (I have MS and a ton of symptoms that screw up my physical abilities sometimes) and I stop my routine for just a few days and I never get back into it. I am starting to train for the climb up the CN Tower in Toronto on October 24 - CN Tower Pledge Form in case anyone wanted to sponsor me. But I needed something to keep focused on I think.
I tried to join Weight Watchers to get me back on track, but the system of reading labels for that is so much different than what I am used to it turned out to be a waste of money.
I have a ton of support from my fiancé, family and friends. But I need more, I need people that are going through what I am. Sorry to vent...just needed to put it out there.

You should try the 5 day pouch test. It will help you!

Yeah, the five day pouch test might be a good idea. Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test. I think it can be so easy to get off track. Fortunately, it is possible to "start over" on the right foot again.

I'd recommend trying the 5 day pouch test too. And if possible - get rid of all the trigger foods in the house or have them put under lock and key.

I never buy any of those foods usually. But I still live with my parents and unfortunately they do and I have full access to all of them. I am getting married in April and will be getting a place of my own, but until then I am still surrounded by an abundance of foods that are a no no.
As for the 5 day pouch test. I have tried it before, did not help much but I think I might try it again. Thanks!

Not to be rude but you're the only person I've ever heard that said the 5dpt didn't work for them. I'm preop and the 5dpt works for me to get rid of the carb cravings and get me back on track.

Nope you are not being rude at all. I tried it, worked for about 1-2 weeks afterwards and then I was back to bad habits. I know it is not a permanent fix, and I am not looking for one since I know that comes from within.

I am so sorry you are going through this! You sound so down ...
I feel that you need help. Please reconnect with your WLS office, see your psychiatrist, come back to support group.
Focus on the positive! You've accomplished so much already! Don't discard all the hard work you have done already!
DO NOT beat yourself up - guilt is so destructive, feeling guilty is the worst!
Tomorrow is a new day ... take some actions and get help ...
Please keep us updated!

Sadly that is easier said than done. I had my surgery done in Michigan, I live in Ontario, about a 4 hour drive away. Second, I don't have a psychiatrist, never did, was not a requirement for me. And lastly, no support group around me. I have searched. All the ones are surgeon specific, I have even called some up asking if they would allow me to join and I have been rejected (nice eh?).
So aside from the monthly e-mails I get from my surgeon's office with their newsletter I no longer am in contact with them at all. Mainly due to distance, second due to cost since Ontario insurance only covered the cost of the surgery, nothing really afterwards except the needed post-ops, but those ended at 1 year.
I am looking for others in the area, would be nice to have someone to talk to who has gone through the same thing. One of my best friends had the surgery too, but she lives in Kansas, so other than phone and the occasional visit it gets hard.
These are not excuses though, just realities. I am trying.
Started the 5 day pouch test again today....of course my office has free cinnamon buns....Granted I could've only had a bite beforehand anyhow, so no big loss. But the smell is what is really driving me nuts.
But being good and sticking to my liquids
