Unhappy Just when things are going great......

I got a chemical burn on my hand in May. When I went to the dr I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. They told me to follow up with a dr and I found a clinic that was affordable. So, I went there and was seen for my high blood pressure, which is going down. She did some lab work just because I hadn't had it done in a while. My liver enzymes were elevated. She did some more lab work to find out that I have hepatitis C. I found out last wednesday and took the rest of the week off. I smoke cigarettes, I drank lots of alcohol and I ate horrible. I layed in bed and cried and felt sorry for myself. I'm feeling much better now and am back on track with my eating and am not smoking or drinking. My friend had her surgery on June 29th and she has lost a total of 21lbs in the last three weeks. It was good to see her and I think seeing her helped me get my head out of my a$$. I don't have insurance and have to go to a hep c clinic which is a year of treatment of two different meds that are very similar to chemo...hair loss and all. The bonus is the weight loss that comes with it. Anyways, that's why I haven't been on in a little while. I have no idea the damage I did to myself over the weekend and probably won't weigh till next Monday. Thanks for your support.

Oh and on top of that I found out my girlfriend was lying to me and I kicked her out. But to me that's a good thing cause I don't tolerate liars.

Wow, Becca, that's a lot to handle in such a short time. I could give you all sorts of platitudes, but you've probably heard them all by now. I just hope you receive all the treatment you need to get back on a healthy track. Best wishes.

I've wondered where you were and how you were doing. I'm sorry to hear about the hepatitis. I don't know much about it. I assume it's treatable, although the treatment sounds rough? I'm sorry you have to go through that.

Don't be too hard on yourself for getting off track. It happens to the best of us at times. Now it's just time to get back on track again.

It is uncurable and contagious through blood and can be through hetero sex (apparently very hard through lesbian sex and my dr told me how to protect future partners) thank God I am gay (lol). The treatment is to keep the virus "manageble" so that cirrosis and cancer or liver failure don't occur. It sucks but I am super motivated to get back on track again.

Wow Becca, I'm sorry to hear that. You seem like a VERY determined and motivated person, so I have every reason to believe that you'll do great in treatment.

Thanks guys! I managed to gain 10lbs over the weekend but it must have been water weight cause it is back off. Yay! I really appreciate the support from all of you. I usually feel like I can do stuff but every once in a while a little extra support is needed. I am grateful to all of you!
